Dave Digs Disney is a 1957 studio album by the Dave Brubeck Quartet. It features jazz renditions of songs from the animated Disney films Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is one of Brubeck's most popular albums. The album was reissued in 2011, with remastered recordings and two bonus tracks: "Very Good Advice" (from Alice in Wonderland) and "So This Is Love" (from Cinderella).

Released in 1962, Jazz Samba is a landmark collaboration between saxophonist Stan Getz and guitarist Charlie Byrd that effectively launched the bossa nova craze in the United States. The album features a smooth blend of cool jazz and Brazilian rhythms, highlighted by the classic hit "Desafinado," which won a Grammy for Best Jazz Performance.

Recorded between January and October 1960 and released on Argo Records (part of Chess Records) in 1961, "At Last" was Etta James' debut studio album.

Blue Hour is Nick Schofield's first foray into ambient jazz music. The album is an ambient ode to Miles Davis' In A Silent Way, and opens up Schofield's sonic palette to introduce his childhood instrument, drums, with his contemporary ambient-electronic practice. Blue Hour features the intuitive, and totally improvised, trumpet playing of Scott Bevins (No Cosmos, Busty and the Bass). Schofield grew up playing drums, but turned to creating experimental-electronic music when studying Electroacoustics at Concordia University. Well-known for his signature ambient aesthetic, Schofield has been called a "dazzling electronic artist" by Aquarium Drunkard and a "synth maven" by Constellation Records. Blue Hour marks the first time that he has merged his percussion practice with his ambient electronic explorations, and it is all in the service of reinterpreting Miles Davis' 1969 watershed recording In a Silent Way. Schofield improvised all of the drumming and main synthesizer parts over the course of a single day, recording in a church in Ottawa. These foundational layers comprise tender Moog pulses and Roland Juno-6 pads, some of which would not be out of place on the back half of Another Green World or Music Has the Right to Children. If this was to be a reflection of In a Silent Way, of course there would need to be trumpet. Schofield invited Bevins to record the missing piece of the album during a one day recording session, where Bevins improvised all his trumpet parts having never heard the songs before. Scott Bevins' contribution gives the music a leading instrumental voice, and his intuitive approach shows a perfect understanding of how to both integrate and elevate the compositions. Blue Hour is itself a profound reference, an ambient adaptation, a dream realized and an uncanny synthesis of sounds, styles, and personal history.

A landmark in jazz history, Time Out (1959) by the Dave Brubeck Quartet broke conventions with it's bold exploration of unusual time signatures. From the fiery 9/8 rhythm of "Blue Rondo à la Turk" to the cool, hypnotic 5/4 pulse of "Take Five", this album fuses complexity with accessibility. "Strange Meadow Lark" and "Three to Get Ready" blend lyrical piano with dynamic interplay, while "Kathy's Waltz", "Everybody's Jumpin'", and "Pick Up Sticks" round out Side B with vibrant energy and rhythmic innovation. A timeless classic that redefined modern jazz.

Tenor saxophonist Rich Perry returns with Dream, his 28th release on SteepleChase, reaffirming his place as one of the most introspective and lyrical voices in modern jazz. Joined by his long-standing quartet—Gary Versace (piano), Jay Anderson (bass), and John Riley (drums)—Perry crafts a set that is both timeless and deeply personal reflecting his evolving artistry and minimalist elegance. Critics have long praised Perry’s “impeccable taste” and “subtle articulation” (JazzTimes), his “adventurous yet highly listenable” approach (All About Jazz), and his ability to “imbue each tune with intense feeling.” Perry summarizes Dream as “a document of where I’m at right now…. this is the kind of album I like to listen to.

This new b�records album sees the unclassifiable Jocelyn Mienniel (composer) and Fiona Monbet (musical director) collaborate on a resolutely hybrid reinterpretation of Gustav Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde, created during a residency at the Royaumont Foundation. Based on an original text by Olivier Cadiot, the creation combines a chamber orchestra, a jazz ensemble, traditional Chinese instruments, electronic music, a children's choir, and vocals, drawing on improvisation and literary cut-up techniques. This transfiguration reveals Das Lied von der Erde as a resolutely modern work, whose humanism unfolds with renewed intensity.

Peter Beets' latest recording announces itself with unbridled authority: a vivid, hard-swinging statement, powered by a first-rate horn section anchored by three standout American voices of the new jazz vanguard, and propelled by a rhythm section of luminaries including Reuben Rogers and Willie Jones III-artists whose resumes include collaborations with legends such as Herbie Hancock, Dianne Reeves, and Roy Hargrove. Under Beets' assured direction, his New York Sextet shapes each work with commanding finesse. Quality Time in NYC is a vocal jazz project by Erik Leuthauser, recorded in New York with esteemed collaborators such as Alan Broadbent, Ken Peplowski, Allen Farnham, Steve LaSpina, and Rich DeRosa. The album features 19 tracks, including standards, rare gems, and one bonus track with Erik's original German lyric to Miles Davis's "Little Willie Leaps"

First Flight marks the debut album of saxophonist and composer George Kontomichalis. Two of the most distinctive voices in Dutch jazz join forces: harmonica virtuoso Hermine Deurloo and guitarist Anton Goudsmit. What begins as a playful exchange between lyricism and groove unfolds into a concert full of unexpected twists, inventive improvisations, and idiosyncratic compositions-plus recognizable covers. Rooted in Amsterdam's jazz scene, they combine melodic power with unpredictable energy. The warm, storytelling sound of Hermine's harmonica is the perfect counterpoint to Anton's unstoppable guitar playing: a creative whirlwind with irresistible groove, humor, and a unique musical signature. Together they take you on a ride filled with stories, rhythm, playfulness, and emotion-sometimes whisper-soft, then exuberant and explosive. Anton Goudsmit (guitar/compositions) enchants with inventiveness, infectious joy, and a groove that immediately draws the audience in. Almost two years after the group's first album, What The Moment Brings, the follow-up is here. A few minutes into the first song, it becomes obvious why I fell in love with this music in the first place: the beautiful compositions and this outstanding group of musicians. The two strong and lyrical leaders are complemented by the superb rhythm section of Niklas Fernqvist, with his elegant tone, and Paul Svanberg, with his undeniable swing.

Her first inspiration was Charlotte Bienaime�'s 'Un podcast a' soi', which discusses fundamental questions of gender and feminism. "More often than not in history, 'Anonymous' was a woman"-this sentence by Virginia Woolf, epigraph to the famous radio podcast, has found an echo in Julie Campiche. Giving a voice to women, but in a distinct way: this is the common thread running through the album. Rather than a feminist manifesto, UNSPOKEN seeks to celebrate feminine strength, nourished by commitment and openness. She addresses the fragile balance of women in shadow and light of society. "Female strength is what makes the world go round. 80% of household chores are done by women for free and anonymously. I want to celebrate exceptional women, but also give a place to this everyday strength." Among the figures who inspire her and whose voices and actions she evokes are the Swiss artist and prostitute Grise�lidis Re�al, or Las Patronas, the Mexican guardian angels who throw food and water to those who have decided to migrate and illegally board freight trains bound for the USA.

First Impression is the debut album by trumpeter and composer D!ma Loginov, a deeply personal statement shaped by memory, migration, and identity. Rooted in modern jazz and enriched with elements of Kazakh folk music, the album reflects Loginov's journey from his childhood in Kazakhstan to his artistic life in Amsterdam. Across eight tracks, he blends soulful melodies, bold improvisation, and spiritual intensity, creating music that speaks as much through feeling as through sound. The album draws inspiration from wide landscapes, first love, and the freedom found in improvisation. Traditional influences surface most clearly in Steppe Sons and a striking modal-jazz reimagining of the Kazakh folk song Yapurai, while moments of intimacy emerge in the a cappella trumpet solo Luiza and the lyrical title track First Impression, featuring vocalist Carolina Gemmell. Recorded with a close-knit group of international musicians, many of whom Loginov met after moving to the Netherlands, First Impression captures a sense of trust, vulnerability, and shared energy. It is an introduction not only to an emerging artistic voice, but to the emotional world that shapes it.
