From the virtuosic writing of Vivaldi through the Concerto Grosso of Alessandro Scarlatti, to the sophisticated musicality of Sammartini and Naudot, all are brought together in this collection, and all present a solution to the problem of writing for the recorder’s soft, non-dynamic tone with orchestral accompaniment.
