The program of this Amati CD brings together liturgical works by Baroque contemporaries, Georg Philipp Telemann (1681-1767) and Johann Friedrich Fasch (1683-1758). • German conductor Michael Scholl (b. 1964, Magdeburg) leads soloists and the Chor und Kammerchor der Biederitzer Kantorei, ensemble’s he founded and has led for more than a quarter-century, and which has garnered attention for wider performances of works rarely heard beyond the borders of the historically well-preserved east-central region of Saxony Anhalt, as well as those of Telemann, Schubert, Franck and Britten.
