American mezzo-soprano Stephanie Houtzeel has appeared on opera stages all over the world, including the Vienna State Opera, the Opera National de Paris, the Israeli Opera, and the Graz Opera. Her performances have been proclaimed as “vocally, dramatically and physically sublime.” (Opera News) Aiming to create a feeling of nostalgia, Houtzeel has chosen works by Ginastera, Ives, Mahler, Buchardo, and Piazzolla for this recording.
