Into the Wonder features the world premiere recordings of two works by Canadian Jordan Pal, one of the most promising composers of his generation, performed by the Gryphon Trio and the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Arthur Post. Strongly inspired by nature's beauty and the mysteries of the universe, Jordan Pal offers two fascinating pieces, imbued with a vivifying lyricism and great finesse. Described as "One of Canada's most interesting young composers" (Ludwig-Van Toronto), "the country's current it-boy composer" (Musical Toronto), and "one to watch" (LaPresse), Pal (b. Toronto, Canada) is a leading voice of his generation in the Canadian concert music scene. An award winning composer, he has had the privilege of being commissioned and performed by many of Canada's finest orchestras and ensembles, including the Gryphon Trio, St. Lawrence String Quartet, Montreal Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, National Arts Centre Orchestra, and the Toronto Symphony Orchestra.

For this third and marvelous last volume of the complete sonatas for violin and piano by Ludwig van Beethoven, Andrew Wan and Charles Richard-Hamelin present the Sonata No. 4 in A Minor, Op. 23, the famous Sonata No. 9 in A Major, Op. 47 ("Kreutzer"), and the Sonata No. 10 in G Major, Op. 96, characterized by it's refined instrumental textures, subtle nuances, and intimate mood. The first volume of this collection was named one of the best classical albums of 2018 by Radio-Canada. Wan received his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music from the Juilliard School under the tutelage of Masao Kawasaki and Ron Copes. In 2008, he was the only violinist to be accepted into the prestigious Artist Diploma Program at Juilliard. He is currently on violin faculty at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, as well as the Orford Music Festival. Silver medalist and laureate of the Krystian Zimerman Prize at the 2015 International Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw, Canadian pianist Charles Richard-Hamelin is standing out today as one of the most important musicians of his generation. This is his ninth album.

This new album by guitarists Adam Cicchillitti and Steve Cowan presents the world premiere recordings of new works written for guitar duo by Canadian composers Harry Stafylakis, Andrew Staniland, José Evangelista, Patrick Roux and Jason Noble. Though infused with a myriad of differing influences and exhibiting a vast array of guitar techniques, these works are both richly flavored and enticing in their varying musical approaches. The Adam Cicchillitti and Steve Cowan duo display an impressive technical assurance and admirable interpretive insights. A captivating and passionate album! Adam Cicchillitti and Steve Cowan have received several media accolades over the past years: the renowned American magazine Classical Guitar praised Cicchillitti as a “superb” and “exceptional Canadian guitarist” and Cowan as “one of Canada’s top contemporary classical guitarists.” The two award-winning musicians and long-time friends joined forces in 2015 to form a duo that focuses on expanding the contemporary classical guitar repertoire through commissions and collaborations with living composers. The ensemble’s vision aims to break down traditional notions of classical music presentation through their unconventional programming, curated to stimulate the classical connoisseur and the general public alike by bridging classical and popular music genres.
