Dr. Lonnie Smith -"Evolution" - Blue Note Jazz - Dr. Lonnie Smith, legendary Hammond B-3 organ master, is set to release his first Blue Note album in 45 years w/ the 1/29/2016 release of Evolution. Special guests incl. Robert Glasper & Joe Lovano. Smith first made a name for himself in the late 1960s as a sideman w/ saxophonist Lou Donaldson on albums incl. Alligator Bogaloo & soon after as a leader w/ his own soul-jazz classics incl. Think! & Turning Point. Smith & his Evolution band will perform at NYC Winter Jazzfest in January 2016.

2018 marks 250 years since Gioachino Rossini's death in 1868. Messa per Rossini was composed in his memory by Verdi and 12 other notable Italian composers. Verdi himself composed the concluding Libera me, which he later used in his own Messa da Requiem. Conducted by Riccardo Chailly, this rare performance represents the work's triumphant return to the spiritual home of Verdi and Rossini: the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.

CD reissue. New Directions is an album by Jack DeJohnette released on the German ECM label. It was recorded June 1978 at Talent Studio in Oslo and released in 1978.
