Brendan Goh is a full-time student of the Amadeus International School Vienna and student of Prof. Franz Bartolomey, first solo cellist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and professor at the Amadeus Music Academy. + This 2014 recording captures the 15 year-olds fresh enthusiasm at the start of his youthful travels with his beloved cello, an 1842 JB Vuillaume. + Brendan made his solo debut in 2012 at age 12 with the Camerata Singapore, playing Joseph Haydn’s Cello Concerto No.1 in C major. + Pianist Reinhard Schobesberger (b. 1978) is active as both chamber musician and accompanist.

For more than ten years the Duo Praxedis has been convincingly showing us the fascination of the unusual combination of harp and piano. With this recording, mother and daughter present a family project with compositions by Carl Rutti (*1949), the husband of harpist Praxedis Hug-Rutti. It is almost needless to mention that the pieces are tailor-made for the two ladies. Duo Praxedis is comprised of harpist Praxedis Hug-Rutti and the pianist Praxedis Genevieve Hug. Together the Duo's mission is to revive the once popular repertory for harp and piano that flourished between 1700 and 1915. Since 2010 Duo Praxedis has been performing regularly throughout Europe and the United States, invariably with great success. To date, the Duo has released nine albums, all of which have been acclaimed by public and press alike.

This recording tells the story of encounters between some of the most celebrated pianist-composers during the first third of the nineteenth century.It seeks to show how much value was placed on musical rivalries among virtuosos of that time, and how the desire for musical competition seemed to come natural to them.Here, Riko Fukuda and Tobias Koch, playing fortepianos common to the era and locales in which the music on this disc was written, demonstrate the naturalness with which musical ideas and concepts were presented and exchanged in a climate of friendship and mutual respect.

With innovative music-therapeutic concepts such as the mouth-harp-play, Justinus Kerner tried to help mentally ill people. In addition to his therapeutic activities, he also wrote numerous poems, which where the basis for compositions by Schubert, Schumann, Strauss and others. A cross-section of these settings is presented here in this new release by Andreas Reibenspies, Jana Büchner, Thomas Crome and Eckart Sellheim. A notable feature in this recording is the use of an 1849 fortepiano which was built in Bosendorfer’s workshop in Vienna. The artists chose this instrument for the recording for its rich and colorful sound and remarkable transparency.

Ensemble minui would like to expand the repertoire for mixed nonet with arrangements and original works. In contrast to the orchestra, making music in nonet without a conductor is more genuine, transparent and direct. For their debut album, the musicians have chosen arrangements of three romantic or veristic operas in which three women appear as central figures. Passion for opera and an infectious enthusiasm for chamber music is behind the innovative and unique vision of the ensemble minui. Living up to the latin meaning of the ensemble name minui, they perform a reduced version of works from the symphonic and operatic repertoire. The pieces are specially arranged by clarinetist Stefan Potzmann for this unique group of five string and four wind players. The process and result of these reductions offers the audience and performer alike a fresh perspective on the works. All members of the ensemble minui have played in Austria's leading orchestras and are currently members of the K�rntner Sinfonie Orchester.

Not that a flutist would actually need to poach in foreign territories due to a lack of attractive repertoire, but the arrangements presented here, based on well-known chamber music works and songs, nevertheless make sense: they underline not only the versatility of the instrument, but also the interpreter's abilities. When the Russian-Swiss flutist Sofia de Salis, together with her piano accompanist Iryna Krasnovska, performs such well-known chamber music works as Franz Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata or C�sar Franck's Violin Sonata on the flute, she astonishes us not only once.

Katharina Treutler's new release offers devilish pleasure alongside intimate worship of God. For example, Ligeti's tricky, demonic 'Treppenwitz' stands opposite the glistening piano work of the faithful Catholic Messiaen. Enlivened by variations of the Holy Spirit, his music seems to sparkle through the windows of an important French cathedral. Katharina Treutler has given numerous recitals around the world, performing in Europe, Asia and in the United States. As a soloist she has played with leading orchestras such as the London Symphony Orchestra, the San Francisco Symphony, the Tokyo Philharmonic, the Armenian Philharmonic, the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Staatsorchester Rheinische Philharmonie, the San Diego Symphony, the Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra. In February 2015, the album Final Symphony was released worldwide with Katharina performing works by composer Nobuo Uematsu. Featuring pieces performed with the London Symphony Orchestra, as well as solo performances, the album was recorded at London’s Abbey Road Studios and reached number one in the iTunes Classical Music Charts in more than ten countries, as well as the Classical Album top 5 of the Billboard Charts and the Official Charts UK. Her other albums include a recording of Brahms’ Piano Concerto No. 1.
