This album is composer Peter-Anthony Togni’s first release with Centrediscs. Hymns of Heaven and Earth features three smaller, more intimate compositions by Togni: Hymns of Remembrance, Solstice Nights, and 3 Neruda Odes. The pieces are deeply personal works, showcasing the composer’s feelings about the Divine, nature, and the final track, 3 Neruda Odes, features poetry by 20th century poet Pablo Neruda. Peter-Anthony Togni currently resides in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and is one of the busiest Canadian composers of our day, winning multiple prizes and frequently being commissioned by ensembles.
