This album presents the bassoon used in duo and trio arrangements, and centers around the often-neglected Bassoon Trio WoO37 by Beethoven. Along with Beethoven’s bassoon trio, this release also features Devienne’s Sonata in C for flute and bassoon, Donizetti’s Trio in F for flute, bassoon and piano, and Morlacchi’sDuetto concertato for flute, bassoon and piano on the motif of Maestro Verdi. Performing these works are Italian soloists Massimo Data, Mario Carbotta, and Piero Barbareschi.
