This Christmas concert features famed Broadway star Laura Osnes, who has performed in such productions as Cinderella, Anything Goes, and Bonnie and Clyde, as well as British actor martin Jarvis. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra present in this performance the story of George Frideric Handel’s life in an inspiring celebration of song. The story of how Handel came to write his most famous work, Messiah, celebrates charitable giving, the rescuing of orphans, freed debtors, and the Messiah’s mission to save all of God’s children. Some of the most loved Christmas hymns are included here, such as “Joy to the World,” and “Oh, Come All Ye Faithful.” Also included is “For unto Us a Child Is Born,” from Handel’s Messiah, performed by guest soloists from the Metropolitan Opera.
