This album features violinist Friederike Starkloff, who won second place in the 7th International Leopold Mozart Competition in 2009 and includes the sonatas that earned her that prize. Previous awards include the Grand Prize at the international competition Violin in Dresden in 2008, first prize in the Ludwig Spohr International Violin Competition in 2006, first prize at Frederica Starkloff "International Young violinist Miroslaw Lawrynowicz Meeting" in 2005 and a special prize for the best youngest participant at the International Competition Marschner Hinterzarten, also in 2005, among others.

At the beginning of his Mozart cycle with OehmsClassics and the Bavarian Broadcasting Company, William Youn stated in an interview: ''I would like to play a Mozart that can be sensed and felt. After all, many say that Mozart always sounds the same, but I don't feel that way. I would like to show how differentiated and exciting Mozart can describe the most varied emotions and colors of people - through music.'' When one has heard all five albums, there is actually nothing more to add to that. His plan has been wonderfully realized.

The complete recording of the Mozart piano sonatas, made for the Oehms label by the South Korean pianist based in Munich, is already setting new standards of excellence in their interpretation on the modern grand piano.

Sophie Mayuko Vetter presents this new release of Mozart's final Piano Concerto, K. 595, regarded as his most mature work in this genre. Joined by the Piano Concerto No. 17, written by Mozart for his pupil, Barbara Ployer. Vetter gave a fantastic encore which can be heard with Rainer Kussmaul, performing in both the unfinished Concerto in D Major and the C Minor Fantasia.

Xiaoming Han began his remarkable career in 1980, at age 17, as principal horn of the China Central Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1985 Han has been the principal horn of the German Radio Philharmonic Orchestra. In addition, he has been frequently invited to perform as guest principal horn with the Berlin Philharmonic, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, the Bavarian, Hamburg, Cologne, Frankfurt and Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestras, the Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne and Dusseldorf Opera House Orchestras as well as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra.

Following CD releases for Sony Korea and ARS Productions, the first of pianist William Youn’s CD series of Mozart’s piano works was released by Oehms Classics in 2013, and honored with the Pizzicato Supersonic Award (Luxembourg). Now, Oehms Classics and William Youn proudly present the second album in their Mozart series. The press has praised the Korean pianist William Youn (b. 1982) as a “genuine poet” with a “bravura technique of touch”. In 2011 he was honored with the Bavarian Art Promotion Prize in his chosen home city of Munich.
