For a period of ten years, the trio Mikkelborg Riessler Siegel gathered for an annual summer ritual under open skies in the iconic sculpture park at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Here, a shared musical voice emerged, of electronic textures, new chamber music, and free improvisation, in a genre without a name, shaped by it's surroundings and by time. This album brings together five works where the rhythms of nature, human fragility, and the presence of art merge into evocative sonic tableaus.

GingerBlackGinger, the daring and authentic project centered around Belgian double bass player Yannick Peeters, has entered a new chapter. They are now joined by American avant-garde alto saxophonist Tim Berne. Their new album, titled Smalltalk Code, will be released in February 2026 by Challenge Records (NL). "Tim is a hero of mine, a great example when it comes to music composition. I didn't even dare ask him to join at first. This project is going to be unique; I don't know of many bands with two alto saxophones. I'm excited to see the dynamic form between Tim and Frans Van Isacker. Tim has such a strong personality, he has a great impact on our sound. These are personalities with a vision: creative, stubborn people who won't settle for mediocrity; restless spirits who keep looking for new sounds, contexts, and like-minded people, and are therefore the ideal partners in crime for Peeters. In January 2024, the band released their debut album GingerBlackGinger. This album combines elaborate soundscapes, brief bursts of energy, and mesmerizing grooves. In May of 2025, Yannick Peeters was given carte blanche by Bozar. She took the opportunity to invite her personal musical hero Tim Berne to join the band for the recording of a new album and a live show. The result of this journey into new musical adventures is the album Smalltalk Code, to be released in February 2026 by Challenge Records (NL).

Since 1966 the SWR NEWJazz Meeting, the legendary sound laboratory for improvised music brings together musicians so that they can develop their creative ideas free from the constraints of daily business. For four days, this arrangement creates a free space for experimentation, with the aim of developing a concert programme that is then presented on a tour throughout the broadcasting area.
The 2021 edition gave the then 23-year-old American vibraphonist Sasha Berliner the opportunity to put together her own dream band. Five musicians from New York and Los Angeles who had never played together in this line-up before, but had always wanted to: Kalia Vandever on trombone and electronics, Matt Sewell on guitar, Max Gerl on double bass and Michael Shekwoaga Ode on drums.
2020 Sasha Berliner was first woman to be voted number one in the “Rising Star Vibraphone” category by the critics of the American jazz magazine Down Beat. At the time, she was 21, which made her the youngest person in the history of the poll ever to attain this honor. Today, Berliner is a formative presence in Brooklyn’s young creative scene, firmly grounded in the experimental music world on the one hand and deeply rooted in the jazz tradition on the other. She studied with Stefon Harris at the New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music. Since 2018 she has been a member of the sextet of the visionary drummer and composer Thyshawn Sorey.

Following the internationally acclaimed improvised solo piano album The Trondheim Concert and the digital album release The Nidaros Concert, NXN now release The Hamar Concert recorded in front of a live audience in The Hamar Concert Hall.

To invent new stories and share them… The birth of this trio took place at the crossroads between the lives and experiences of the three artists. Apart from the friendship they shared, and the admiration they already had for each other, the very existence of this trio seemed to be an unavoidable encounter, a confrontation that they’d all been hoping for. Taking a strong, common vision of jazz and improvisation as their starting point, they off er music that is resolutely modern and uncompromising. PLAY! Is Henning Ull�n's second album under his own name. Together with Mauritz Agnas on double bass and Nils Agnas on drums, the trio offers music with a melancholic undertone, yet infused with a joy of playing. The title of the album, also the title of the second track urges us to play, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and improvisation in it's simplest form. On the other hand, the music is rich, oscillating between well-composed, sometimes complex passages and freer sections that leave room for improvisation. The album is infused with a driving high-energy vibe. At times, the boundaries blur between what is composed and what is improvised. In addition to the trio format, the album also includes some shorter solo improvisations where Ull�n for the first time on record presents his solo-playing.
