• On her Delos debut recording – Lynn Vartan presents a fascinating program of works written since the turn of the 21st century. Among percussionists who have gravitated to solo marimba performance, Ms. Vartan has emerged as one of the most brilliant and engaging virtuosos. Lynn displays further versatility by also playing vibraphone and crotales (small, bell-like cymbals). Some use of prerecorded sampling make for impressive and beguiling sonic tapestries.
