FOUR SEASONS RECOMPOSED

Japan's leading music magazine has named Martha Argerich a winner in it's 50th annual Record Academy Awards. An authoritative voice in music since 1963, Record Geijutsu has been naming the world's best recordings for half a century, and it's awards are considered among the most glittering prizes in the world of classical music. Martha Argerich was soloist on Claudio Abbado's first ever recording for Deutsche Grammophon. Their reunion in Mozart concertos, recorded at the 2013 Lucerne Festival, was released shortly after Abbado's death and was immediately seen as an outstanding tribute to both artists ("These are performances in which vital sparks generate palpable electricity" - Daily Telegraph). Speaking of the Record Academy's Silver Award for her recording of Mozart concertos with Claudio Abbado, Martha Argerich said: "I am deeply touched and honored to receive this award, both in my name and for my dear friend Claudio Abbado. It's impossible for me - as I know it would be for him - to express in mere words the pristine, existential joy of our final Mozart performance together, but if the Geijutsu jury has heard it in the recording, their recognition is a fitting crescendo for the coda of our lifelong collaboration." In January 2015 the complete concerto recordings of Argerich and Abbado will be released.

2016 release. Winner of the 17th International Chopin Piano Competition 2015, one of the most prestigious titles in all of classical music, Seong-Jin Cho presents his first ever studio recording on DG. Combining Chopin's immensely popular 1st Piano Concerto with the almost equally popular 4 Ballades, this coupling displays his brilliant finger work and mastery of characterization. Cho recorded the work at London's famous Abbey Road Studios with the London Symphony Orchestra and it's new Principal Guest Conductor, Gianandrea Noseda. His interpretations of the composers ballades were set down at the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Harburg, Germany.

BACH

Evgeny Kissin - "Beethoven (Piano Sonatas No. 3; 14; 23; 26; 32)" After a break of 25 years, Evgeny Kissin signed a new exclusive contract with the Yellow Label. The partnership resumes with the release of Beethoven, Kissin's first solo recital recording in over a decade. With a program handpicked by Kissin from recitals given over the past decade, the 2-CD album features Piano Sonatas No.14 Op.27 No.2, "Moonlight" and No.23 Op.57, "Appassionata," as well as 32 Variations in C minor WoO 80 and Piano Sonata No.32 Op.111, the composer's final work in the genre.

SOLIPSISM (LP)

Avi Avital re-imagines the sounds of Venice in this vivid homage to the most beloved composer of the Italian Baroque, Antonio Vivaldi. After his introduction with BACH and the colorful exploration of world music on BETWEEN WORLDS, Avi presents four popular Vivaldi concerti on this album with the great Venice Baroque Orchestra as well as two 18th Century Venetian Gondolier songs, performed with tenor Juan Diego Fl�rez. He is touring the repertoire through US in Feb/March 2015.

This is Hilary Hahn's first-ever Mozart recording that features a selection of her favorite voilin sonatas made with her preferred partner, pianist Natalie Zhu.

2014 release, a beautiful selection of spiritual music dedicated to the eternal search and longing for inner peace. It's perhaps one of Elina's her most personal albums ever which connects the listener with her Latvian roots. This is probably her most commercial album to date, the careful selected variety of the repertoire will attract a lot of new fans. Elina is joined on this recording by her husband, the well-known Gibraltan conductor Karel Mark Chichon OBE. This is their second collaboration on disc for DG.
