Channelling the restless energy and angular hooks of early '80s post-punk and indie rock, Great Tradition is Din's singular full-length snapshot - a sharp, urgent statement, brimming with the restless creative spark that became their calling card.

The first LP released on Ray Charles' Tangerine Records imprint in 1963, Jimmy Scott's Falling in Love is Wonderful exists as one of the most mythic albums in vocal jazz. Due to contract disputes with his former label, Scott's Tangerine debut was shelved shortly after it was released - much like it's Atlantic Records follow-up, The Source - and went un-reissued for decades. Ultimately, Scott, a favorite of his contemporaries like Ella Fitzgerald, never became the star he should have been, but this album remains his masterpiece: A loving, tender collection filled with Scott's masterful work around a ballad.

On Landscapes of Eternity flautist and composer Naissam Jalalexplores the connection between music, nature, and spirituality at the heart of the Hindustani tradition. Although the music is shaped through a contemporary and deeply personal lens, it is rooted in the language of Indian classical music. Traveling alone in North India for several months, Jalal wandered through landscapes and sacred sites, met masters and musicians, absorbed the sounds, smells and sensations of this unique journey, inviting us to a new way of listening to the world. From this experience emerged an intimate, contemplative, and profound repertoire, where Jalal's flute becomes the vehicle for an inner journey rooted in the breath of life.

Chet Baker At George Jazzcaf� was recorded live in 1983 at George Jazzcaf� in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and at New Morning, Paris France. Dutch Jazz pioneers Wim and Ria Wigt had the privilege of supporting Chet's lifestyle by offering him a steady series of concerts that suited his way of living and traveling. The line-up often changed, depending on the tour. These four live recordings were made during a memorable run with two outstanding musicians from Copenhagen: veteran pianist Duke Jordan and bassist Jesper Lundgaard. The album offers a first selection from the tapes of a tour which took place at George Jazzcaf� in Arnhem and New Morning in Paris. Chet Baker performs "Walkin'," "Solar" (written by Miles Davis) and "Star Eyes" all three recorded at George Jazzcaf� as well as "September Song" recorded at New Morning. All tracks are available on CD for the first time. Booklet includes liner-notes by Wim and Ria Wigt, an original review published in the Dutch newspaper de Gelderlander in 1983 and an excerpt from the book George Jazzcaf�: An Arnhem Legend 1974-1996 released in 2024.

2025 was a year of milestones for me: I had a big birthday and I was about to record my 20th album as a leader. The 20th album felt really important; I wanted to celebrate my time in New York City and musical achievements. I imagined a party and jam session where all of my loved ones were present, a time where we would play music and laugh and eat good food and have a real party. "House Party" is that dream come true. On this record you will hear my long-time rhythm section (more than 20 years of music!!) Hide Tanaka on bass and Fukushi Tainaka on drums. Sitting in with us is Cory Weeds, my long time touring partner, musical collaborator, and founder of Cellar Live Records on tenor sax. Also sitting in with us is Klas Lindquist, my newest collaborator, on alto sax. In the audience we have my friends and business associates spanning many years. We played, we talked, we laughed, we partied. This album represents all that is good and beloved in my life, I hope you feel the same spirit when you listen!

Light as a Feather was the second studio album by Chick Corea's band Return to Forever, following Corea's 1972 LP that introduced the group. The album features Corea on electric piano, Joe Farrell on flute and soprano and tenor saxophones, Stanley Clarke on double bass, Airto Moreira on drums and percussion, and vocals by Flora Purim. Light as a Feather was named 1972 Playboy Jazz Album of the Year and has been regarded by numerous magazines and polls as one of the greatest jazz LPs ever made.

REFLECTIONS

John Coltrane - My Favorite Things / Coltrane's classic Atlantic album from 1961 gets the Rhino Reserve treatment. This is his first recorded use of the soprano sax which he would go on to play extensively until the end. The modal exploration of the title track is something he would return to in live performances for the rest of his career. Cut by Matthew Lutthans at The Mastering Lab and pressed on 180g black vinyl at Fidelity Record Pressing.

From March to May 2015, John Zorn composed 300 new tunes that were eventually collected into a book of music he called The Bagatelles. Volume 8 presents the long-awaited premiere recording of John Medeski's psychedelic organ trio. Featuring David Fiuczynski (Screaming Headless Torsos) in a striking Hendrix/Blood Ulmer mood and the powerhouse drummer G. Calvin Weston (Ornette Coleman, Lounge Lizards), the music is fierce, imaginative and endlessly creative. Touching on funk, jazz, psychedelic rock, metal and more-this is one of the most intense interpretations of the Bagatelles ever conceived. This music will sear your brain!! Essential.

For the first time ever, Roy Hargrove's legendary 2000 performance at the Bern Jazz Festival is officially released-restored from the original tapes and remastered for audiophile fidelity. This is Hargrove at the height of his powers: bold, lyrical, endlessly inventive.

Chatterbox is the new album from London-based vocalist and composer Louise Balkwill, delivering modern vocal jazz rooted in swing, lyric storytelling and original vocalese. Recorded with a close-knit acoustic band - Jonathan Bauer (trumpet), Rob Barron (piano), Theo Malka-Wishart (double bass) and Joshua Walker-Martin (drums), with Ross Stanley (organ) featured on select tracks - the record blends original compositions with reimagined standards, balancing classic jazz language with a playful contemporary voice.

Vinyl LP pressing. The Guy Hamper Trio was formed by Billy Childish, after a chat with his friend James Taylor. Billy and James had played respectively in The Milkshakes and The Prisoners, often sharing the same bill in the early 80's, leading to Billy's blues ensemble The Natural Born Lovers being the support act for the early shows of The James Taylor Quartet. The Guy Hamper Trio is: Billy Childish on guitar, his wife Julie on bass and Wolf on drums - who as it happens was the drummer in the original incarnation of JTQ - and of course features James Taylor on Hammond organ. The Guy Hamper Trio provide a bottom end, Blues-influenced instrumental mayhem for those unafraid of dirt, germs and true grime. With no particular wish other than to be recognised as the best at playing badly, they refuse to obey the usual rules of combat and music. Here we have twelve fine songs of bottom end, Blues-influenced instrumental mayhem, with something bold, something new, something borrowed, something blues!

When Oscar Peterson arrived for a two-week engagement at Baker's Keyboard Lounge in Detroit in early August 1960, the pianist's year-old trio, featuring bassist Ray Brown and drummer Ed Thigpen, was ascending to new artistic peaks. Intended at the time as a live album for Verve but never released, the music on 'At Baker's Keyboard Lounge' features remarkable, previously unissued performances, all taped on a single Friday night. No matter the tempo, rhythm, or complexity of the arrangement, the three players breathe as one on these recordings, phrasing as if controlled by a single heartbeat. These new-to-the-world recordings, made in Peterson's prime at the longest continuously operating jazz club in the US, remind you that there will never be anyone else like Oscar Peterson.
