After the release of their first CD "White", which received an ECHO Klassik award, the Amaryllis Quartett continues it's successful CD series with "Blue". This time, alongside the shimmering magic of Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, the young, internationally acclaimed and award-winning musicians perform the world premiere of a quartet by the Chinese composer Lin Yang, who has dedicated the work to them. It is impressive how the tonal concentration of contemporary music and the richness of impressionistic works unfold when juxtaposed. State of the art quartet playing at the highest level!

On their third Genuin label CD, german hornsound present original compositions exclusively written for their formation, including one, Trygve Madsen’s “Sinfonia Concertante”, receiving its world premiere recording, with Leopold Mozart's “Jagdsinfonie” and Schumann's “Concert Piece for Four Horns” sounding as if tailored for the ensemble. Founded in 2009 by four former university students who all currently hold positions in professional orchestras, german hornsound’s repertoire comprises all epochs of music history including both original works and arrangements.

Ram+¦n Ortega Quero studied with Miguel Quir+¦s early on at the conservatory in his native Granada. He became a member of the Andalusian Youth Orchestra at the age of 12. In 2003, conductor Daniel Barenboim accepted Ram+¦n as a member of the East-West Divan Orchestra. Gregor Witt, Principal Oboe of Barenboim's Berliner Staatskapelle, took the gifted young man under his wing and acted as his mentor. Ram+¦n won first prize at the ARD Music Competition in 2007. Since 2008, he is the principal oboe of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra under conductor Mariss Jansons. In 2011 he was named the ECHO KLASSIK "Young Artist of the Year".

With her enchanting, radiant flute sound, Barbara Kortmann takes us on on a journey through truly exquisite Baroque music on her GENUIN debut release. Joining with spirited partners from the early music scene, the multiple award-winning musician (Aeolus International Competition for Wind Instruments, 2016 International Sir James Galway Flute Festival...) awakens works by Antonio Vivaldi, Johann Sebastian Bach, Marin Marais, and other composers to their full potential. Passionately, flawlessly, and with total commitment, the musicians perform concertos and chamber music, original works and arrangements.

Annette Unger is featured on her fourth Genuin CD together with fellow Dresden Academy of Music professors Michael Pfaender and Ludger Remy. This trio performs the sonatas for violin and cello by Antonio Vivaldi.

Claude Debussy was profoundly permeated by his French roots. However, his Ballad demonstrates that Russian influences from Tchaikovsky also played an important role in his compositions. In works such as the Danse bohemian and the Arabesques, the fusion of both French and Russian inspiration comes together for a unique aural experience.

With this Genuin release, we're carried away on a musical journey to other spheres in a live concert recording by rising young South Korean pianist Yekwon Sunwoo. The late Beethoven Sonata, Op. 109, Chopin's 24 Preludes, and piano works by Liszt an dTchaikovsky form a substantial and multi-faceted selection that does full justic to the 2015 International German Piano Award winner's dynamic playing style. The transparent sound of his Bechstein grand allows even the subtlest nuances of color to shine through. The phrases and structures are brought out with such clarity and lucidity that we're more than happy to simply follow along as the pianistic guide shows us the way.

Viviane Chassot has previously released three solo albums, and now releases her first duo production alongside Martin Mallaun. This unique album contains rare chamber music in new arrangements for the special combination of accordion and zither. Not only are these arrangements original, but this program is varied and exciting, containing Renaissance pieces from John Dowland to the modern avant-garde work of John Cage.

The Sun King Louis XIV, who, in the truest sense of the word, had all of France and the court of Versailles dancing around him, died exactly 300 years ago, in 1715, a time when dance, music and theater all experienced an unprecedented flourishing. On her new Genuin label CD, harpsichordist Rebecca Maurer, playing a historical Ruckers harpsichord from Neuchâtel, weaves pieces by d’Anglebert, F. Couperin, Le Roux, and others from the most brilliant epoch of the harpsichord to form a musical tapestry rich in allusions and cross-references. A true musical journey into a golden age...

Winner of the 2015 German Music Competition, clarinetist Bettina Aust presents this new release alongside her brother, pianist Robert Aust. For Bettina’s debut album, she has chosen a varied programs, immersing the listener in a kaleidoscope of styles, including pieces from composers Francaix, Burgmuller, Widmann, Bernstein, and Brahms. “The two young musicians supply from a performance that is a huge thunderstorm of sound feels…they mingled rapid pace with crystal-clear sound…” (Der Tagesspiegel)

Duo TschoppBovino, on their debut GENUIN CD, show us their versatility as Mirjan Tschopp successfully performs onboth violin and viola. Dmitri Shostakovich occupies a unique place in 20th century music. The duo has chosen his Sonata for Violin and Piano, Op. 134 and Sonata for Viola and Piano Op. 147. These two pieces were composed toward the end of the composer’s life, during his most mature compositional period.

The Goldberg Variations are one of the greatest works of piano literature, and a test of virtuosity for any concert pianist. Marie Rosa Gunter has chosen these works for her debut album, presented here. Marie Rosa Gunter has already won first prize in multiple competitions, and this release marks the start of what will surely be a remarkable career.

The works included on this album demonstrate the heart of German Romanticism, with works by Horn, Schumann, Homilius, Goldmark, Hummel, Schubert, and Steinhaur. World-renowned vocal ensemble Amarcord performs these works, alongside instrumental group German Hornsound. The timeless songs featured on this release speak to the listener of love, despair, and eternity. Brass and vocal fans alike will enjoy this album!

Played with intensively close listening and feeling the inner essence of the music: this is how Japanese pianist Nami Ejiri approaches the late works of Schubert on her GENUIN debut CD. + Alongside the great Sonata in B-flat major, she plays the Four Impromptus, D. 899 and the more rarely played Allegretto in C minor, D. 915. + Winner of the prestigious Vianna da Motta Int’l Piano Competition, Lisbon, amongst other competition successes, Ms. Ejiri has been teaching piano at the Hochschule for Music in Frankfurt, Germany since 2006.

Hailing from Frescia, cellits Paolo Bonomini offers a survey of 200 years of musical Italy on his Genuin debut release. The First Prizewinner at the 2016 Leipzig Bach Competition performs works by Joseph Dall'Abaco, Luigi Boccherini, Alfredo Piatti, and Luigi Dallapiccola. In terms of the program, we could hardly imagine a more rich and varied overview, and the young, internationally-successful soloists's playing more than fulfills our expectations - from his lean and buoyant sound in the playful and exuberant Baroque works, to his crystal-clear articulation and bold risk-taking in the modern selections. A brilliant and highly promising debut!

The pianist Hans H. Suh presents both large and small works on his GENUIN album with piano music ranging from Beethoven to Debussy. The winner of numerous international competitions, including the 2018 International German Piano Award, is a master of the moment as well as of sweeping lines: Schumann's, Beethoven's and Debussy's "little things," i.e., preludes, bagatelles, and other snapshots, shine with tremendous and enduring radiance. Suh brings Liszt's gigantic B minor Sonata into the present and lends it the magic of the moment. This combination of successful repertoire selection and exquisite interpretation invites more than just piano lovers on a virtuoso journey through time.

Who says young people don't still present innovative programs? The virtuosic winner of the Leipzig Bach Competition 2012, Johannes Lang, even manages to integrate a Bach homage into his GENUIN debut CD that was created before Bach's birth - is such a thing possible? Yes - listen to the disc and study the text written by the soloist! Pieces by Bach himself and others based on the B-A-C-H tone sequence are put together here in a compilation that will transport the organ-music lover from 1600 to 2014. It's a journey that even contains a world premiere recording: Jan Esra Kuhl's "Variations on B-A-C-H".

These wonderful musical leaves, compiled for us by the pianist Tobias Koch for the fourth CD of his Schumann series on GENUIN, waft towards us as if from distant times. Alongside works of Schumann, we find delicate treasures by Johannes Brahms, Theodor Kirchner und Voldemar Bargiel – all works that these composers would have written in Schumann's poetry album, so to speak. Some of them appear on CD for the first time here. And alongside this allurement of rarity, Koch's floating, breathing piano sound fascinates us once again, conjuring up the period of these pieces with their impetuous feelings, salons and yearning for distant places - fragile and moving miniatures...
