Cellist Philipp Schupelius, winner of the 2023 German Music Competition, has just been named one of the 30 most exciting young musicians by Classic FM. His debut album is being released on the GENUIN label as part of the Primavera series, created in collaboration with the German Music Council. Schupelius effortlessly bridges the gap between the Venetian Baroque of Antonio Vivaldi (with the finely nuanced accompaniment of the Metamorphosen Berlin Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Wolfgang Emanuel Schmidt) and the dazzling late-Romantic sounds of Sergei Rachmaninoff (brilliantly supported on piano by Yukino Kaihara). He masterfully captures both Vivaldi's delicate Baroque ornamentation and Rachmaninoff's sweeping passion!

It takes music to really make the eyes of both young and old sparkle. And this music is delivered to us by Duo Giovivo with their third GEN UIN album. Euphonium and alphorn player Fabian Bloch and pianist and multi-instrumentalist Muriel Zeiter have impressively arranged Christmas classics and the world premiere of a commissioned work by Daniel Hall. The repertoire ranges from traditional tunes like "O Tannenbaum" to classics such as the "Petersburger Schlittenfahrt" (Sleighbell Tinkle) to the legendary "Three Wishes for Cinderella." In high demand internationally, pianist and conductor Filippo Faes has appeared at venues such as the Concertogebouw Amsterdam and the Philharmonie Berlin. Acclaimed as one of the most profound and most creative pianists of his generation, Filippo Faes has chosen highly contrasting works by the Viennese master, Franz Schubert.

The young clarinetist Annelien Van Wauwe earned victory at the prestigious 61st Int’l ARD Music Competition in Munich 2012. On her debut GENUIN CD, recorded with pianist and fellow Belgian Lucas Blondeel, the duo features a three-piece program of Prokofiev and Weinberg. Highlighted by Prokofiev’s Op. 94 Sonata, the release is united in part by the Jewish themes and legacies apparent in the latter two of the works on this disc. Miss Van Wauwe is a regular festival invitee where she appears as both soloist and chamber musician, and has appeared as a soloist in prestigious halls throughout Europe.
