Pleasure, Spirit and Art'is the Dresden Philharmonic String Trio's GENUIN debut CD. These three high-ranking musicians bring together compositions by Beethoven and his teachers - Haydn and Albrechtsberger - and end with the music of the young Bonn spitfire himself, his scintillating Serenade, Op. 8 that seems as if it'd been written for the spirited playing of these fine Dresden musicians.

Genuin presents the 12th release in their Artist Consort series dedicated to the music of Olivier Messian.

Time and again, Schubert appears to tear holes in the space-time continuum. A single Moment Musical a few minutes long can seem like an eternity full of pain or joy; a sonata movement of "heavenly lengths" can seem to be over very quickly. We experience both of these on the new GENUIN CD with the Lubeck pianist, Konstanze Eickhorst.

The internationally sought-after cellist Michael Heupel and his pianist Mario H�ring, who has also won several awards, enter into an exciting dialogue with the past. On their new GENUIN release, they present works related to early music. Gaspar Cassado composes a sonata in the "old Spanish style," and Igor Stravinsky sets off into the world of commedia dell'arte. Zolt�n Kod�ly explores Johann Sebastian Bach, and Alfred Schnittke serves up sugar-sweet, baroque-inspired gems, holding up at times a miniature distorting mirror. A virtuosically played, inspiring collection that transcends the past and future.

On his debut album, the Chinese ARD prizewinner Diyang Mei presents truly transcendental works for viola solo: The passacaglias and chaconne by Bach, Britten, Ligeti, Biber and Hindemith - a program of great intrinsic luminosity! It is indicative of the mastery and artistic maturity of the multiple competition winner that he has so completely transformed some of the greatest, most profound works of literature. In so doing, he extends far beyond his instrument. A great production! Diyang Mei was born in China in 1994 and began playing the violin at the age of five. From 2005 to 2014 he studied the viola with Shaowu Wang in the Central Conservatory of Music Beijing's Middle School and has since participated in masterclasses given by well-known virtuosi such as Pinchas Zukerman, Nobuko Imai, Roberto Diaz, Paul Coletti, Thomas Riebl, Valentin Erben and G�nther Pichler. As a soloist he has performed with many orchestras including Konzerthausorchester Berlin, Philharmonic Orchestra Bad Reichenhall, Poznan Philharmonic Orchestra, Churs�chsiche Philharmonie Bad Elster and Busan Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, among others.

Anna Gann (soprano) and Naoko Christ-Kato (piano), the two musicians of Gernsheim-Duo, present sensational finds on their GENUIN album. The 22 lieder by Friedrich Gernsheim, which they interpret with high sensitivity and insight, are recorded here for the first time. The composer is one of those Jewish musicians who was influential before the Holocaust and is almost forgotten today. The Gernsheim-Duo is committed to the musical works of such composers and deserves praise for their efforts! The historical and musical value of these lieder, which have been meticulously compiled, cannot be overestimated - and the mastery of the two interpreters does them justice.

World premiere recordings for recorder and accordion are presented by the two artists Sabine Ambos (recorder) and Mirjana Petercol (accordion) on their GENUIN debut release. The program is dedicated exclusively to works by Romanian composer Diana Cemeryte. We find ourselves deeply immersed in a strange and quiet world that leaves much room for listening and re-listening, feeling, and sensing. Never-ending breaths and undreamt-of sound effects are just as much a part of this sound universe as breathtaking virtuoso passages and a Babylonian plethora of languages without words. Tosca and Tannhauser, lieder by Schumann and Schubert - interpreted by a tubist and a harpist? Without any singing at all? Exactly! We wonder whom we should admire the most: the composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who at the age of fifteen wrote such consummate, sparkling, and profound music, or the Hanover Piano Trio, which with violist Konstantin Sellheim has so immaculately recorded the young master's quartets on this GENUIN release. The young Romanian violinist Ioana Cristina Goicea and her piano partner Andrei Banciu draw on the full range of their talents: on their debut album, they bring late Romantic music by Richard Strauss, Erich Wolfgang Korngold and the world premiere recording by Stan Golestan to life in full color. The two winners of the competition are perfectly attuned to each other. A technically flawless rendition serves as the basis of their interpretation and is exalted by the extraordinary artistic personality of the two Romanian musicians. The romantic exuberance creates goosebumps! Ioana Cristina Goicea is one of the outstanding violinists of her generation. She won First Prize at the 2017 Michael Hill International Violin Competition in New Zealand, with critics praising her passionate performance and describing her as "a new star in the musical firmament." In 2018 she won First Prize at the German Music Competition in Bonn and was a laureate of the International Violin Competition of Indianapolis. In 2019 she became a prize winner of the prestigious Queen Elisabeth Competition in Brussels. Born in 1985 in Timisoara (Romania), Andrei Banciu began studying the piano in his home town with Maria Bodo, later continuing in Berlin at the UdK (University of the Arts) under Prof. Klaus Hellwig and at the "Hanns Eisler" School of Music under Prof. Fabio Bidini.

A young Canadian-Russian-German quartet is about to storm into quartet heaven! And thanks to the worthy Primavera Edition, which GENUIN releases in cooperation with the German Music Competition, we are witness to it. The Eliot Quartett plays on Beethoven's dizzying op. 18 No. 1 and contrasts it with Karol Szymanowski's op. 56. The ensemble's crystal-clear yet rich sound already thrilled the juries of competitions in Salzburg, Melbourne, and Katowice as well as the audiences of the ARD International Music Competition 2018. The two musicians Lenka Matej�kov� (violin) and Dariya Hrynkiv (piano) possess Slavic sound in their blood. You can hear this in the glowing recordings of their debut release, which is dedicated exclusively to Czech composers. The two prizewinners of numerous competitions follow the stylistically diverse paths of works by Anton�n Dvor�k, Leo� Jan�cek, Josef Suk and Bohuslav Martinu down to the smallest detail. With enthusiasm and deep insight, they allow us to experience how each of the four composers uniquely unite national heritage with European culture. A musical treat!

The Philharmonie Sudwestfalen and it's chief conductor, Nabil Shehata, offer us repertoire rarities of the highest artistic quality and one of the milestones of the repertoire. On the orchestra's second recording with GENUIN, the agile North Rhine-Westphalian state orchestra presents works by Antonin Dvorak on a double CD. In addition to the "Symphony From the New World", the album includes the early, lush 3rd Symphony of the Bohemian master and two of his late symphonic poems: "The Noon Witch" and "The Water Goblin". A fascinating cross-section of Dvorak's work, from his Richard Wagner-influenced beginnings to maturity.

The piano works of the Spanish pianist and composer Antonio Ruiz-Pipo, which GENUIN presents on a new release, are a real discovery. The superb French pianist Ali Hir�che brings three world premiere recordings of the Granada-born composer, combining them with works by Ruiz-Pipo's admired compatriots Mompou and de Falla. The flawless playing of the young pianist let's us marvel at the ingenuity, the audacity, the bright colors of this music - which. In it's austerity and the questions it poses, makes us hear another Spain far removed from any tourist clich�s. Born in Paris in 1976, Ali Hireche began studying music with the composer featured on this release- Antonio Ruiz-Pipo. By the age of 15 he moved to Italy to continue his musical journey at the Milan "Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi. He began performing both in recitals and as a soloist with orchestras across Italy, and went on to win several awards including the Concorso Internazionale Rovere D'Oro, the Premio della Critica al Concorso Europeo di Taranto, and more.
