During the Renaissance, war was a common occurrence. It is, therefore, no surprise that wartime tunes and ballads found their way into both secular and sacred compositions of the time. This album focuses around the wartime songs of the renaissance. La Pifarescha aims to capture the rhythms of battle and the celebrations of the festivals that followed a victory. La Pifarescha provides an authentic historical performance, including improvisational sections in the songs.
