In its latest project, the Chorus sine nomine, one of Austria’s leading choirs, under its director Johannes Hiemetsberger, has turned to a very special work: the Miserere by Gregorio Allegri in an arrangement for saxophone and three choirs a cappella by Vladimir Ivanoff. + The setting of the 51st Psalm from the 1630s, which is uniquely captivating due to its simplicity, was a fixed component of the liturgy of Easter week in the Sixtine Chapel in Rome for over 250 years and soon achieved cult status because of the high penalties on its ‘pirate copy’.

Until late into the 20th century, being composer was not a valid choice of profession for women for diverse social and political reasons, leading to a rather small number of female composers in music history. "Ladies' Night" with Thomas Albertus Irnberger, violin and Barbara Moser, piano turns a spotlight on a number of these composers of different countries and makes a late but all the more important contribution to a more just relationship between the genders. Mamy of the women portrayed in this album like Amy Beach (U.S.A.), Luise Adolpha le Beau (Germany), Pauline Viardot-Garcia (France), Amanda Röntgen-Maier (Sweden), Maria-Theresia Paradis (Austria) and Dora Pejacevic (Croatia), were quite successful musicians as well.

After attracting attention with her clear soprano voice in the classical and opera genre, German singer Esther Kretzinger discovers new paths with her second album Sound of a Poem. Together with a small jazz ensemble of international reputation, she sheds a new light on a special selection of Romantic and Impressionistic songs by Claude Debussy, Joseph Marx and Othmar Schoeck. With the Swiss violinist Georges-Emmanuel Schneider, New York's vibraphone player Tim Collins, renowned bassist Wayne Darling and Austrian drummer Gerald Endstrasser, Esther Kretzinger works out the essence of these songs in the language of jazz, showing that the difference between Impressionist music and jazz often lies more in externals such as sound colour, articulation and instrumentation rather than in its artistic core.

Austrian jazz pianist Rudi Wilfer is one of the great jazz minds of our time, who has had the privilege of playing with many of the greatest international jazz legends. With "Over the Rainbow", Wilfer now releases the logical sequel to his previous recording "Somewhere". Featuring new and very personal interpretations of standards like Basin Street Blues, The Shadow of Your Smile, Orbit, Baby Steps as a witty arrangement of John Coltrane's Giant Steps, or My Romance, Wilfer teaches his audience the meaning of silence and the space between the sounds. This album is a meditative, almost Buddhist statement from this extraordinary Austrian musician, and, focusing on his lyrical, romantic playing style, also a homage to Bill Evans, one of the most important and influential pianists of modern jazz, whom Wilfer got to know in the popular jazz club Village Vanguard in New York in 1979.

"•Always Christmas!' A Christmas sceptic experiences a miraculous transformation through music and silence, through a girl and fairy tales, through sickness and recovery in the weeks of advent. The short story '7 Minutes before Christmas' for narrator and flute by Michael Dangl after the eponymous piece of music by Pavel Karmanov is accompanied by music by Johann Sebastian Bach, Astor Piazolla, Pyotr Pospelow, Pavel Karmanov and others. Michael Dangl, recitation and piano, and Maria Fedotova, flute, exude the best Christmas atmosphere in a special way. • Michael Dangl has been a member of the ensemble of the Theater in der Josefstadt, Vienna, since 1998. He received training in his parents' actors' group 'Karawane Salzburg' from his earliest childhood on. Further commitments have been to leading roles at the theatres in Salzburg, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Koblenz. Leading roles in cinema and TV films, 10 years at Reichenau Festival, productions for radio and readings of his own programmes underline the versatility of Dangl's artistic work. • Michael Dangl has already published two novels: Rampenflucht (2010) and Schöne Aussicht Nr. 16 (2012). In the 2013/14 season, Michael Dangl is acting in Wie im Himmel in the Theater in der Josefstadt and in Ziemlich beste Freunde in the Kammerspiele der Josefstadt. • The flautist Maria Fedotova, a graduate of St. Petersburg Conservatoire (1996) in a class held by Professor A.Vavilina-Mravinski, began her studies of music at the age of 5 and performed her first solo concert with the chamber orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre at the age of 8 and in duo with her father, the flautist Vladimir Fedotov. She has performed with the Vienna Philharmonic, the London Philharmonic Orchestra under Vladimir Jurowski, the St. Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra under Yuri Temirkanov, the orchestra of the Mariinsky Theatre under Valery Gergiev etc. She has co-operated with such eminent musicians as Gidon Kremer, Juri Baschmet, Tatjana Gri

Violinist Raimund Lissy, member of the Vienna Philharmonic, has long been dedicated to the work of uncovering the works of Austrian composer Joseph Mayseder and make them available to a wider audience. After publishing two recordings with chamber music by the violin virtuoso who was born in 1789 in Vienna, the third volume contains violin concertos by Mayseder. Joined by the newly formed "Joseph Mayseder Orchestra" under the baton of Helmut Zehetner, Lissy presents the concerts for violin and orchestra No. 1 in A minor, Op. 22 (1813) and No. 3 in D major, Op. 28 (1811) as well as the Concertino for violin and orchestra No. 2 in E major, Op. 53 (1835). Raimund Lissy on the typical Mayseder style: Skillfully composed virtuosic passages for the violin alternate with pleasing cantilena, and there is a wealth of successful musical ideas that make rediscovering this music very rewarding.
