Every two years since 1999, a pilgrimage is undertaken by music enthusiasts into the Swiss interior for an intensive traditional Alpine musical retreat. The Alpentöne festival reflects the Alps as a musical projection. Sounds reverberate in the Urner valleys over the three August days, during which 40 concerts are held. The focus is on the stylistic richness of today's music, where it's not about the invoking tradition per se, but about orientation in a multidimensional natural and cultural space.
