There would be much to say on the importance and reasons of the practice of tablature transposition and transcription in the evolution of music for keyboard instruments. What we can point out, however, is that, in the case of some great composer who did not leave an original repertoire, there is an increasing tendency to adapt pieces that had a different destination for the organ. So it is customary to hear, played on the organ, the pieces Schumann composed for pedal piano or the music for mechanical clocks composed, among others, by Hndel, Haydn, Beethoven and Mozart. That is the intention of this album by Stefano Innocenti- he performs works by Bach, Mozart, and Rameau which weren't originally intended for his instrument on his instrument- the organ. This album recorded by Stefano Innocenti on the eighteenth-century organs of the Ducal Chapel of San Liborio at Colomo and the Duomo of Guastalla is part of the cultural activities promoted by the Associazione culturale "Giuseppe Serassi."
