The link between Weber and Wagner, Marschner’s Hans Heiling, was staged in the Aalto Music Theatre in February 2018. The production by Andreas Baesler received a mixed reaction, but the music was unanimously lauded by critics, above all the performance of Essen Philharmonic under the baton of Frank Beermann. The German Romantic opera in 3 acts is the composer’s most successful opera, and brought the composer a considerable reputation. The story is based on a folk legend, and the opera’s libretto was written by Eduard Devrient, who also sang the title role at the premiere at what is now the Berlin State Opera. In this production, Heiko Trinsinger performs the title role.

Dallapiccola's timbres lead us through the darknesses of the human soul, allowing us to hope together with the prisoner, for we hear with him the saving word "fratello" (brother). At the moment of the greatest fulfillment of hope, he is seized by the arms of the Grand Inquisitor and must acknowledge that hope was the worst torture of all. The performance series in Graz, Austria, in March 2017, from which the present recording is taken, was praised in the highest terms by the musical press. Dirk Kaftan has been General Music Director of the Bonn Beethoven Orchestra and the Bonn Opera since the summer of 2017, after having previously servied as Principal Conductor of the Graz Opera and the Graz Philharmonic Orchestra. “Reaching people” and “mustering energy” are important for Dirk Kaftan, and these priorities are reflected in the results of his work.

Following the release of the DVD box in the spring, OehmsClassics now issues the complete Ring from Frankfurt in the well-known design on 14 CDs. This complete version comprises the individual issues of the four operas with the Frankfurt Opera, produced and released during the years 2010-2012. This release is accompanied by a single CD with orchestral music from the Ring.

Recorded live at the Vienna Musikverein, these performances further reveal the growing sense of appreciation conductor Andrés Orozco-Estrada is receiving. He is soon to be appointed Principal Conductor of the hr‑Sinfonieorchester, Frankfurt, Music Director of the HoustonSymphony and Principal Guest Conductor of the LondonPhilharmonic.

Creating excitement is the aim of this effective music with it's trombone attacks, bell tolls and horrors, sentimental cantilenas, sweet love duets and the famous overture: never was there the least doubt that Sebastian Weigle with the Frankfurt ensemble would succeed in bringing these off. With Rienzi, Oehms Classics now presents the last of the three operas attributed to the youthful years of Richard Wagner.

At the beginning of his Mozart cycle with OehmsClassics and the Bavarian Broadcasting Company, William Youn stated in an interview: ''I would like to play a Mozart that can be sensed and felt. After all, many say that Mozart always sounds the same, but I don't feel that way. I would like to show how differentiated and exciting Mozart can describe the most varied emotions and colors of people - through music.'' When one has heard all five albums, there is actually nothing more to add to that. His plan has been wonderfully realized.

After the premiere at the Viennese Karntnertortheater in 1847, Friedrich von Flotow's Martha or The fair at Richmond became for nearly half a century one of the most popular operas in Europe. Full of charming melodies and with a plot as hilarious as racy, the story of bored Lady Harriet Durham and her friend Nancy, who disguised themselves as Martha and Julia and travel to the servant's fair of Richmond, where they actually not only find a job, but also true love, is an enchanting example for the 1850's civic opera and also Friedrich von Flotow's wonderful light hearted music. After "Der Graf von Luxemburg" OehmsClassics is happy to continue the collaboration with Opera Frankfurt with this remarkable recording.

The 25th jubilee of Singer Pur simply must include a BEST OF release at a special price. This new album offers a wonderful overview of all the albums recorded by the ensemble for OehmsClassics. Since its founding in 1991, the ensemble Singer Pur- in its original formation of five former Regensburg Cathedral Choir boys and a soprano- has developed into one of the leading international a cappella ensembles. In 1994 the sextet won first prize at the German Music Competition in Bonn, and one year later was honored in Finland with the coveted “Grand Prix for Vocal Music” at the international Tampere Music Festival. Regular appearances in renowned concert series and at important festivals confirm the outstanding reputation of this experienced ensemble. The group has released 13 albums for OehmsClassics alond since 2004.

The vocal ensemble Singer Pur will celebrate its 25th performing jubilee in 2017. The first public performance of the ensemble on March 8, 1992 at a benefit concert at the Cologne Philharmonie laid the cornerstone for an international career. So far, the sextet has sung in over 50 countries and is considered one of Europe's leading a-cappella formations. Its high ranking is reflected by numerous honors, including the Bavarian State Prize for mUsic, the Caeciliaprijs and three Echo Klassik prizes. At the jubilee concert on March 8, 2017 at the Prince Regents' Theatre in Munich, the ensemble will present a programme showing the entire spectrum of its activities - ranging from works performed during the ensemble's early years to a world premiere.

Christina Landshamer's career is heading in one direction: upwards. Recently returning from her debut at the Chicago Lyric Opera and Carnegie Hall, she is now presenting her debut album, Lieder: Ullmann & Schumann. Christina has chosen to record well-known Schumann works as well as some lesser-known but extremely interesting works by Viktor Ullmann.
