That Vienna is one of the capitals (if not THE capital) of music is undisputed. With this recording, Elena Gaponenko has dedicated an entire album to the city on the Danube and the composers who have worked there. Really interesting is the time frame that these works originate from, they span exactly 25 years, from 1815–1840. In her introduction to this release Elena Gaponenko writes: “This recording should honour this enchantingly beautiful city as a great guardian of culture, as it has brought so many musical icons together and allowed them to develop creatively.” Pianist and Cellist Elena Gaponenko has been an instructor at music academies in Vienna, Berlin, Frankfurt am Main, Duseldorf and Bremen since 2008.

At the age of 23, violist Adrien Boisseau, named Young Artist of the Year in April 2014 by the renowned jury at the “Int’l Classical Music Awards“(ICMA) in Warsaw, became the youngest member of the renowned Quatuor Ebene, replacing Mathieu Herzog in January 2015. At almost the same time, he presents his debut album of Robert Schumann works, now available from OehmsClassics. As a soloist Mr. Boisseau regularly appears at international festivals, and has already worked with conductors Manfred Honeck, Pierre Boulez, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Kazushi Ono and Myung-Whun Chung.

The Lord's Prayer is the most universal prayer in Christendom, prayed by believers of all denominations. What would be more natural, then, than to bring together several settings of this prayer on a CD with the outstanding Salzburg Bach Choir? the CD was recorded in a relatively modern church in the Salzkammergut (Salzburg Province, Austria), equipped with interior wooden ceilings and walls, resulting in a very special acoustic. Alois Glassner, choral conductor and Professor of Music, University of Vienna, has been the choir's artistic director since 2003.

Alexander Hulshoff has selected famous Schubert pieces, among them a number of songs including An Die Musik, Die Forelle and St�ndchen, as well as the popular Arpeggione Sonata, D821 and adapted them for cello and piano for his debut OehmsClassics CD. A former student of cellist Lynn Harrell, Mr. Hulshoff has established himself in recent years as a leading international cellist, his interpretations notable for their expressiveness and unmistakable warm and lyrical tone. His accompanist, Andreas Frolich, is an internationally recognized orchestral and chamber ensemble pianist.

- For his debut OehmsClassics release, Sebastian Noack has selected Lieder to poems of Heinrich Heine set to music by Robert Schumann. - The 30 titles also include Dichterliebe as well as the four Lieder to texts by Justinus Kerner but withdrawn before these works went to press. - An extensive text on the transpositions of the Lieder by Max Friedl�nder (1852-1934) is in the accompanying booklet. - Berlin-born Sebastian Noack studied voice at the Academy of the Arts in Berlin. - Alongside his extensive concert and operatic activities, he is a guest professor at Berlin's Hanns Eisler Academy of Music.
