The debut album by the young Trio Contrasti takes us on a journey through time with a mosaic of sounds in which epochs and cultures enter into dialogue. Romanticism gave the art world a new paradigm of thought. Music took the leading position among the arts; the freedom of formal design, initiated by the content, unfolded. The quest for national self-identification and the rapid development of national styles in art began. Romanticism opened the way for a dialogue between epochs and cultures that continued into the 20th century. Three works that have no direct connection to each other are nevertheless in a common context. When viewed through the prism of a romantic paradigm, they can be seen as milestones on the path through epochs and cultures.

Since it's foundation in 2013, the Berlin opera group has made a name for itself with Berlin premieres such as Donizetti's Deux Hommes et une Femme and Betly and other operatic rarities. This album is a Deutschlandfunk Kultur recording of the 2021 performance of Wolf-Ferrari's comic opera IL SEGRETO DI SUSANNA from the Konzerthaus Berlin. Lidia Fridman was also heard in the role of Dalinda (OC989). The orchestra of the Berlin Opera Group plays under the direction of Felix Krieger.

Wolfgang Rihm's opera "Jakob Lenz", world premiered on 8 March 1979 at the Hamburg State Opera's Opera stabile, can be understood as a palimpsest. Like a parchment on which writings of different ages overlap but always remain translucent, this opera is also the result of multiple layering: we see the historical figure of the Sturm und Drang poet Jakob Michael Reinhold Lenz from the second half of the 18th century through the eyes of Georg Buchner, who wrote his "Lenz" novella around 1835. The story is mirrored once again in Michael Frohling's libretto version, on which Rihm's opera is based. This is a live recording of the opening night at the Nationaltheater Mannheim in 2021 under the direction of Franck Ollu.
