Written and directed by Phil Grabsky, this film explores the life of monumental artist Pierre Auguste Renoir. Renoir’s impressionist paintings of Paris are among the public’s favorites. Eventually, however, Renior grew bored of this style and drastically changed his path. His later works are much more provocative and illicit extreme reactions from the public. Some art aficionados are repulsed by this art, others are drawn in. This film is based around the Renoir collection at Philadelphia’s Barnes Foundation, and explores the untold story of this influential artist and the link that he built between the art world’s old style and new.
