MEWE is an album about reflection, relationships, widespread views, freedom and self-sufficiency. A thoughtful vagueness permeates this recording and leaves the listener with both a sense of restlessness and something peaceful, while adding a dimension of surrealism. MEWE is Anna Lundqvist's fifth quintet recording. This album also features guitarist Krister Jonsson; cellist Stina Larsdotter; and vibraphonist Tobias Hedlund. This is departure from Anna's previous albums, as the completely acoustic and well-known jazz sound is nearly gone. Lyrics are abandoned and the voice plays an "instrumental" roll, blending with the others in the group. Guest musicians, digital and electronic elements creates an edge to the quintet's already established sound. Anna's compositions have been developing and more noticably drawing influence from modern classical, art and baroque music. All musicians play a part in leading the group as the lead vocals are now among the collective space of it all. Anna wants to deviate from the firm traditions, rules and standards of the vocal jazz concept to create something unique.

This is the second album from the Stockholm based music collective Tall Tales, run by the trombone player, composer and producer Arvid Ingberg. Since the release of their debut album "GAMUT", the music has become more and more pop sounding, but the songs are still mostly instrumental. Even though the sound is inspired by pop, the structure and arrangements of the songs are often influenced by jazz and funk music. One of the main goals for Tall Tales is making instrumental music everyone can relate to, even though you're not used to listen to music without vocals. The songs on this album are inspired by artists and bands such as Wintergatan, Susanne Sundf�r, Loney Dear, Vulfpeck, The Beatles and Bj�rk.

Corpo writes a new chapter in their career by releasing a new album. Their musical genre is jazz and improvisation combined with what gives significance to the Nordic sound, and Swedish folklore its tonality, supported by grooves with African and Asian elements. All of their music is based on original compositions by Mikael Godée. Corpo uses the musical compositions as a base, and creates their music intuitively, which distinguishes the arrangements, the dynamics and the improvisations from one performance to another. The group would have to release one album from every concert to be able to satisfy all of their listeners. That’s why Corpo now chooses to release their sixth album, recorded “live in studio” (Lindgrensalen), Artisten, Gothenburg, Sweden, to capture the unique concert feeling and to let the listeners experience the fantastic ensemble playing by the musicians and sense their total presence.

Trio X is one of Sweden's premier improvisation groups. Trion's distinctive character is exploratory and cross-border music, and the experienced musicians are inspired by many genres. Lennart Simonsson, Per V. Johansson and Joakim Ekberg started their collaboration in 2002 and have since then recorded several albums, collaborated with several well-known artists, toured in Sweden and abroad. Trio X is a versatile ensemble and works in the county music with many different projects. Gigs at jazz clubs, concert halls and big festivals are being played with concerts in classrooms and in care and care. The musicians also act as inspiration sources and teachers to amateur groups. Trion has a number of estimated productions aimed at children and adolescents and has had a perennial collaboration with the composer Per Egland in creative school. This new release features improvisations as well as original compositions and compositions of contemporary musicians who frequently partner with the ensemble.

Eva Kruse�s preceding albums In Water and On the Mo have both received loads of praise and recognition. In 2015 and 2017 she was honored with Jazz-Echo awards (the German equivalent of a Grammy) for best national bass player. M. Heinzelmann described in NDR�s Jazz-Album of the week that: "The Oboe is very rarely heard in jazz: It's pure sound opens up the sonic landscape and together with the saxophone it takes the listener on a journey into unknown territories". This spirit of breaking new ground characterizes the whole of the album On the Mo. Eva Kruse plays to her strengths, the poetry, the grooves and the freedom, and together with her band they explore across boundaries.

Groovy Moments and Melodies is a recording project by Finnish jazz guitarist Tuomo J. Autio and Antti Rissanen, leader of The Great Helsinki Swing Big Band. It had it's beginning as a response to a suggestion from Pentti Lasanen, composer of jazz and entertainment music. The purpose was to make jazz-spirited interpretations of popular compositions by composer/musician Rauno Lehtinen (1932-2006). The result is a unique compilation that includes arrangements for jazz guitar and big band.

Calle Rasmusson is a drummer, composer, arranger, orchestrator, and producer, who has performed alongside some of the finest artists in the business, including Mathias Algotsson Trio, Magnus Lindgren, Blue House Jazz Orchestra, Patti Austin, DalaSinfoniettan, and many others. A graduate of both Skurups Folkhogskola and the Royal College of Music Stockholm, Rasmusson has won several prestigious awards for his performing and composing, including the Ronnie Gardiner Drum Award in 2004 and the Konstnarsnamndens arbetsstipendium komponist 2010. All of the works on this release are arranged by Calle Rasmusson, and several are original compositions. He conducts and performs alongside the DalaSinfonietten for this release.

Bohusl�n Big Band presents Up & Coming Jazz Talents 2019 Up & Coming is a yearly recurring project, in which selected young jazz musicians are invited to play with Bohusl�n Big Band. The project aims at talent development and regeneration within jazz and was initiated in 2013 to highlight these creative and flourishing young talents. Several of the young musicians who have previously participated have either returned as guest artists or guest musicians in Bohusl�n Big Band since then. The 2019 edition of this production resulted in two fantastic concerts at Vara Concert Hall and Nefertiti Jazz Club where the audience was given the opportunity to hear tomorrow's jazz stars perform self-selected songs together with Bohusl�n Big Band.

Most of the music on "Koan" consists of new compositions. All the songs are dedicated in some way or another to family members, friends, and musicians, but most of all to the Japanese people. Koan is a method of questions and answers to evaluate a monk's state of spirituality, such as "What is the sound of one hand clapping?" For me, music is a kind of Koan; the experience of it and how music affects people is beyond our rational understanding. I have always loved and respected the Japanese people and their culture. I would like to honor the victims of the 2011 tsunami with this music. (Lars Jansson)

Pianist, arranger and bandleader Kjell �hman is one of Sweden's most well-respected musicians. With his 40 years in the music business and a frequently engaged studio musicians he has a unique ability to play all kinds of genres, such as pop, rock, jazz and folk music. With all these versatile skills he can be compared with the Swedish legend Jan Johansson."I was offered the chance to record a Christmas album and this is my take on the best Christmas melodies. This Prophone release offers a brand new tribute by the Robert Wells Trio to legendary musician and entertainer Charlie Norman, whose Swedish show business career lasted nearly 60 years. "From my and Charlie's first meeting in the 1980's and in our fifteen years touring as a double piano act on and off, I got to learn from Charlie both on stage and off; it was a time of pure joy. I've written an all new boogie for this CD called Old Time Boogie with the playful subtitle "It was better in the old days"... Two years ago when I started to write the music to The Law of the Lady" I had the intention of saying yes to all my ideas and not let practical details rule the artistic work. I followed my vision and when I was ready with my sketches I showed them to Calle Rasmusson, drummer, arranger and co-producer on this album.When all the songs were edited and arranged it was clear what kind of sound I wanted." (Christina Gustafsson)Born in Sweden in 1970, vocalist Christina Gustafsson has been accorded recognition as both vocalist and composer in recent years. The Law of the Lady is her third release.

Peter Johannesson and Max Schultz first met in 1977 and have since worked together in numerous musical situations. Peter's first CD "Sixtus" featuring Herbie Hancock was recorded in 1995. Max was also there and contributed several compositions. In the intervening years Peter and Max's collaboration with bassist Dan Berglund has established itself. Dan's energetic bass has been heard the world over with Esbj�rn Svensson trio. A comfortable creative atmosphere formed between these experienced and broad-minded musicians, as witnessed by the choice of works on "Cause and Effect".
