Tibor Varga was six years old when he made his first public appearance. At ten, he took on his first solo role with an orchestra, giving his interpretation of Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in E minor op. 64. In 1934, at the age of 13, Varga made his first recordings (His Master’s Voice). At fourteen he took on his first concert tours taking him all around Europe and later all over the world. Discovered by Jenö Hubay, he was enrolled at the age of 10 at the Franz Liszt Academy of Music in Budapest, where he began to study with Franz Gabriel and Leo Weiner. Attracted by the conceptions of Joachim and Auer, he also maintained a long personal and musical friendship with Carl Flesch. As for Bartók, he invited the young violinist to turn the pages at his concerts and also accompanied him on the piano in a Sonata by Brahms. After that, his rise to stardom took off. This release features the famed violinist performing works by Beethoven, Mozart, Bruch, and Tchaikovsky, recorded in the 1950s and 1960s.

Cellist, organist and composer, Schale was active in that historical period in which a new way of composing for harpsichord starts to make it's way through stylistic features of composition that will characterize classicism. In his keyboard Sonatas, we can identify the joining link that has allowed the true Classical Sonatas of Haydn and Mozart to exist. Luigi Chiarizia (L'Aquila, 1 August 1978) is a harpsichordist, organist and composer. Born from generations of artists, he began studying music at the age of six, studying first with the masters Rendine, Nenna, Herrera, and Carnini, later with Mencoboni, Suzzani and Pappagallo, maintaining, however, a personal musical thought. In his free time he writes and draws. He graduated brilliantly in organ and organ composition in Pescara.

This album from the Budapest String Quartet proposes a comparison between the classic well known and rare repertoire, and features works by Debussy, Lutoslawski, Ravel, and Sibelius. The Budapest String Quartet was a string quartet in existence from 1917 to 1967. It originally consisted of three Hungarians and a Dutchman; at the end, the quartet consisted of four Russians. A number of recordings were made for HMV/Victor through 1938; from 1940 through 1967 it recorded for Columbia Records. Additionally, several of the Quartet's live performances were recorded, at the Library of Congress and other venues.

In the corpus of recordings made by I Musici on behalf of Phillips, in the mid-sixties, it still counts the recording of Vivaldi's Op. No. 3 - L'Estro armonico. This is not the case to deepen the artistic element of the famous chamber music ensemble. Suffice it to say that despite the contributions of the executive philology, this traditional recording remains a landmark in the discography of Vivaldi, ever actual for the executive equilibrium, for the solo contributions and for its beauty in general.

Ruggero Manna is a composer with a central position in the musical panorama of the XIX Century, and today deserves to be completely rediscovered. In this new release the Lux Animae Ensemble and Alberto Pozzaglio rediscover the Neapolitan school, the composer's counterpoint, the Viennese stylistic resonances and the musical influences of the Italian melodrama. Founded in 2013, by Gianluca Boari, the ensemble Lux Animae is composed of ten musicians, some professional, some amateur, but with years of musical experience between them. Since 2014, the group has been led by Maestro Alberto Pozzaglio, an expert on Renaissance music with a degree in organ and composition.

Donizetti’s Don Pasquale has not been recorded an extensive number of times, and the version featured here remains one of the reference classics of the work. Recorded in 1952, this version is of the Orchestra Sinfonica e Coro di Torino della RAI, conducted by Mario Rossi. The vocal cast is outstanding, delivering a flawless performance with accuracy, fluidity, and drama. Performers include Sesto Bruscantini, Mario Borriello, and Cesare Valletti.
