Patrick Gallois, who is internationally regarded as one of the greatest flutists of our time, has the particularity of reinterrogating each work he approaches with a new ear to offer an innovative and bold interpretation. He is joined by the extraordinary French flute ensemble Trio d'Argent, to give new life to neglected classical masterpieces by Eug�ne Walckiers (1793-1866): Grand Concert Quartet in F # min Op.46 and Friedrich Kuhlau (1786-1832): Grand Quartet in mi min Op.103. For several years they had been trying to record these two magnificent quartets for flutes by Freidrich Kuhlau and Eug�ne Walckiers. Finally their busy schedules allowed them to work with one another and record these virtuoso quartets. The result is a musical experience of great intensity and an unprecedented feast not to be missed. The originality of this recording also comes from the choice of having interpreted these quartets with four wooden flutes (Abel flutes). The wood allows each one of the four virtuosos to get closer to the sounds of the instruments of the time and to match the sonority and articulation in a miraculous manner. This release is chamber music elegance and virtuosity of the highest order.

This new release is a project that presents the talent of Abraham Barrera (Keyboard / composition), Giovanni Figueroa and Moises Reyes. It juxtaposes the regional sound of the tuba with the electronic personality of synths and the mixture of regional and jazz rhythms are pertinently exposed. Each theme of 'Ey' TRIO maintains a harmonic structure of wide range that allows improvisation and dialogue between the instruments creating an interesting progression of textures.

This exciting new release features Mexican jazz music in symphonic arrangements performed by Crist�bal L�pez and the Orquesta Juvenil Carlos Mata. Crist�bal L�pez, more commonly known as Cris Lobo, began studying guitar at age 6. He is self-taught. In addition to his work as a performing guitarist, he also is an accomplished composer and arranger. His career covers nearly all musical genres. He has played with numerous musicians all over the world, including Ramon Flowers, Clare Fisher, Juan Carlos Laguna, and others. He has made hundreds of recordings as a studio musician, and his research of music has led him to study the trumpet a well as traditional Japanese music.

Naran Duo manages to fuse the splendor of the sun and the mystery of the moon, an erotic and playful transposition, in a luminous darkness. But in this material, nothing is eclipsed, everything is heightened. Piano and voice form a prodigious entity: an instant of co-creation, where the song appears to be unfolding as one listens. Inspired by the image of an eclipse -which is what the word “Naran” means in the Triqui language- these songs are the daughters of an astral conjunction, of a delicate fusion of feminine and masculine, verbal, and musical attributes.

After Handels's Messiah and the Ode for St Cecilia's Day, Daniela Dolci and Musica Fiorita present on Pan Classics their version of Johann Sebastian Bach's Christmas Oratorio. Based in Basel, Dolci has easy access to many of the best vocal soloists around, and this recording has been no exception: the role of the Evangelist is sung by Hans Jörg Mammel, and the other main roles are defended by Gunta Smirnova, Flavio Ferri-Benedetti and Raitis Grigalis. With such a setup, the question of "why a new recording of the Christmas Oratorio" is needed is easily answered. For more than 25 years the ensemble Musica Fiorita, conducted by Daniela Dolci, has been specializing in the performance of late Renaissance and Baroque music. The ensemble strives to promote the current standards of historically informed performance practice and is committed to being true to both the original scores and the liveliness of their performance. The varied use of period instruments as well as the presence of a substantial continuo group add to the flourishing of the finer nuances of the music of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Eleanor Weingartner, an American clarinetist living in Mexico has been principal clarinet of Mexico’s National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) since 1990. With the OSN she has played in concert halls throughout Mexico as well as in important venues in Europe and the United States and has participated in many OSN recordings for Sony, among other labels. Alfredo Aguilar is one of the most active Mexican performers in the last five years. He has studied and developed as a concert soloist; however, he also performs with orchestras and with chamber ensembles. Originally from Tultepec, the State of Mexico, Alfredo Isaac Aguilar studied at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico, the Ecole Normale de Musique in Paris, "Alfred Cortot" and the International Summer Academy of the Mozarteum University in Salzburg, Austria. His teachers were, Luz Maria Puente, Jorge Federico Osorio, Aquiles Delle-Vigne and Germaine Mounier. He took courses with Bernard Flavigny, Jorg Demus, Eva Maria Zuk, Arie Vardi, Gyorgy Sandor, Cyprien Katsaris and Olivier Gardon, among others.

This release features a program of classical works for a unique instrumentation- oboe, clarinet, and orchestra. The first piece, Double Concerto for Oboe, Clarinet, and Orchestra by Eduardo Alonso-Crespo, sets both soloists as equals. The following works- Rosetti’s Concerto No. 3 in C Major for Oboe and his Concerto in Eb Major for Clarinet, brilliantly showcase each artist individually. Eleanor Weingartner, an American clarinetist living in Mexico has been principal clarinet of Mexico’s National Symphony Orchestra (OSN) since 1990. With the OSN she has played in concert halls throughout Mexico as well as in important venues in Europe and the United States and has participated in many OSN recordings for Sony, among other labels. Miguel Salazar studied music at the University of Guadalajara and later at Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. He has previously held positions with the Guadalajara Symphony Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra, and is currently principal oboe of the Queretaro Philharmonic Orchestra.
