Behind the Darkness is the second album of Jean-Paul Estievenart as a leader. This album title has two meanings: the first is a reference to Jean-Pual's childhood, which was driven by the curiosity to discover what has hidden behind the coal slacks that were his playground for years. The second refers to the moments of darkness that man goes through in life in his quest for inaccessible perfection. This album pays homage to all the people that helped him overcome this mountain which is, ultimately, not all that dark.
