November 22, 2013 marks the 100th birthday of Benjamin Britten, and Warner Classics pays tribute to this key figure of 20th century music with this brand new recording of his War Requiem, featuring a superstar line up of soloists - Anna Netrebko, Ian Bostridge and Thomas Hampson - and renowned conductor Antonio Pappano leading the Orchestra, Coro e Voci Bianche Dell'accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

French-born Canadian pianist and composer Alain Lefvre makes his Warner Classics debut with 'My Paris Years'. The album brings together a collection of classic piano pieces written by some of the most beloved French composers: Claude Debussy, Maurice Ravel, Erik Satie, and Csar Franck. 'My Paris Years' is, in essence, a hymn to the city where Lefvre spent some of his most precious years of learning. From the rolling waters of the Seine to it's calm banks above, from the subdued mood of the streets to their sometimes intense flurries of movement - every piece plays it's part in depicting the scene that is Paris and recreating the multifaceted spirit of this city in music.

The elegant, but impassioned musicianship of Augustin Hadelich evokes the violinists of the 'golden age' of the early and mid-20th century. Winner in 2015 of the inaugural Warner Music Prize, Hadelich now releases his first recording for Warner Classics: Paganini's 24 Caprices for solo violin. These works of proverbial virtuosity were conceived by the flamboyant Nicol� Paganini to test and showcase every aspect of a violinist's skills. For his first album with Warner Classics, Lahav Shani conducts the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra in Symphony No. 7 and plays Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 4: two pieces which come from Beethoven's so-called middle period. The classical harmonic tension contributes to the drive of the music as much as the rhythmic propulsion. This music features a clarity of texture and, above all, a unity between the melodic motive and the accompaniment. Acclaimed for his 'instant chemistry' with the orchestra, Lahav Shani is considered the shooting star amongst conductors - as Der Tagesspiegel puts it: 'The young maestro is simply sensational'.

2019 release. Sporting a truly international career, Conrad has appeared as soloist in the United States with the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, and the Baltimore, Dallas, Detroit, and San Francisco Symphonies, among others. He has made multiple tours of Europe, giving solo recitals in Paris, London, Munich, Berlin, and Verbier, and performed with orchestras in Brazil, China, Hong Kong, Mexico, Moscow, and Singapore. Conrad currently attends the Columbia University/Juilliard School joint degree program and studies piano with Professors Yoheved Kaplinsky and Choong Mo Kang at Juilliard. He studies composition with Professor Christopher Theofanidis of Yale University, and studied violin with Ms. Catherine Cho for five years at Juilliard's Pre-College Division.

Janusz Wawrowski's album Phoenix pairs two life-affirming violin concertos written during difficult periods in their composers' lives: Tchaikovsky was recovering from his disastrous marriage and Ludomir R�zycki was enduring the Warsaw Uprising of 1944. Wawrowski spent several years reconstructing R�zycki's concerto from long-lost fragments. "This wonderful work spoke to me immediately... Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, it should be reborn and enjoyed by audiences around the world. To me, the concerto is full of the energy and life of Warsaw before the war, and I think R�zycki was trying to conjure up this positive energy as he wrote it in 1944... It reminds me of Gershwin or Korngold, yet retaining at the same time a distinct Slavic flavour." Wawrowski is joined for this recording by London's Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and it's Polish-born Permanent Associate Conductor, Grzegorz Nowak.

2019 release. Beatrice Rana, in the words of the New York Times, is a pianist who "has ferocious technique but is distinguished by her musical intelligence." Here she plays virtuosic, poetic works that evoke the creative ferment of Paris in the transitional early years of the 20th century: piano transcriptions of Stravinsky's iridescent ballet scores The Firebird and Petrushka, and Ravel's Miroirs and La Valse.

2019 release. The centerpiece of this album of piano works by Fazil Say is his Troy Sonata. Say gave it's premiere in August 2018 in the Turkish city of �anakkale, near the historical site of Troy itself. "There are not many purely musical works on the subject of Troy," explains Say, "so I have endeavored to express all the dramatic features of this magical legend through the language of music." As the Turkish magazine Andante wrote, the 10-movement sonata "is composed around a structure just as epic as it's subject".

George LI gained international attention in 2015 when he won the silver medal in the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow. Now he has recorded one of Tchaikovsky's greatest and best-loved works, the Piano Concerto No 1 with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Vasily Petrenko. The New York Times has called him a "real revelation" in the work. It is complemented by three solo pieces by Liszt, a composer who featured on his debut Warner Classics recital, judged "a winner" by International Piano magazine.
