Now available again: the long out-of-print recording of the Goldberg Variations in Dmitry Sitkovetsky's arrangement for string trio is back in the ORFEO catalogue. Recorded in 1985 together with Gérard Caussé and Mischa Maisky, Sitkovetsky's arrangement is considered the benchmark against which other arrangements are measured. The interpretation impresses with its clear voice leading, balanced timbres and a subtle homage to Glenn Gould.
