This new Orchid release features a brand new composition by the celebrated British composer Sally Beamish and a commissioned transcription of Claude Debussy’s La Mer. World famous bass baritone Sir Willard White reads the narration in the newly written The Seafarer. Ms. Beamish’s music embraces many influences: particularly jazz and Scottish traditional music. Trio apaches formed in 2012 as the consequence of a shared desire to focus on innovative projects and challenging cross-genre collaborations, as well as to present masterworks of the trio repertoire in unfamiliar contexts.
