Jennifer Stumm, recognized as one of the world's leading advocates for the viola, together with pianist Elizabeth Pridgen, perform the inspired Franz Liszt transcription of Hector Berlioz's masterpiece Harold In Italy, written originally on commission from Italian virtuoso Niccoló Paganini, who, in the end and to his ultimate regret, never performed the work. The programming of the disc inserts Franz Liszt pieces before, between and after each of the four movements of Berlioz’s work.
