Boccherini and the minuet: these two words are as closely interlinked in one’s mind as Foucault and the pendulum. + Yet, it is not the title of an individual piece that has stuck to his name as an “epic attribute” but the designation of a dance movement he composed by the hundreds during his lifetime: nearly all of his 600 compositions contain a minuet. + Gergely Ittzés is widely known as an expert of modern flute playing, and one who is also committed to the entire flute literature; moreover, he keeps extending and enlarging it by performing forgotten works and making transcriptions.
