This new release by cellist Christian Poltera contains two of the most beautiful concertos in the cello repertoire: Dvorak’s Concerto in B minor, and Martinu’s Concerto No. 1 for cello and orchestra. The aim of both of these composers was to create a piece that engages the solo instrument in a sort of dialogue with the orchestra. Christian Poltera is accompanied by the Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin, conducted by Thomas Dausgaard.
