Petr Fiala (b. 1943), whose life’s jubilee is being celebrated by this disc, is an important and versatile personality of Czech and international musical life. In 1996 Cardinal Miloslav Vlk bestowed on him the Order of Sts Cyril and Methodius Honour to Czech Saints for his concerts of sacred music. He has been devoting himself for over 30 years to chorus mastering and conducting. Except for the Rondo for Viola and Piano, the the works on this CD are vocal works to Latin texts. The selection ranges from works written in the 1970s (A Song for the Yet Unborn) up to his latest De amicitia (2011).
