On his Genuin CD debut, co-produced with the German Music Council, saxophonist Koryun Asatryan, winner of the 2012 German Music Competition and numerous other competitions plays new contemporary music, including four works by Christian Lauba (b. 1952). Mr. Asatryan is a wanderer between worlds, a juggler who plays with styles and is as much at home in jazz as in classics, a newcomer to whom pieces have already been dedicated (including two world premiere recordings on this CD). Music for saxophone solo and in chamber ensembles, the last work on the CD also contains overtone singing.
