Arturo Chacón-Cruz a native of Sonora, Mexico, is considered one of the top operatic tenors of his generation.
He established himself as a leading man appearing in the most renowned theaters and concert halls across the globe. He has sung over 60 roles in 30 countries.
He has sung private recitals for His Majesties Queen Sofia and King Juan Carlos of Spain, as well as a concert for all the leaders of Iberoamerica, and His Majesty King Felipe of Spain. He has been featured on CNN, FOX, Telemundo, Univision, TV Azteca, Televisa,Vanity Fair, GQ, Esquire, Opera News, People, and on most of the major news and entertainment outlets.
Sonora Philharmonic Orchestra
The consolidation of the SFO in 2003 marked the successful culmination of a decade of formative efforts and the beginning of a new stage in the cultural life of our state. Since then, the Philharmonic has presented concerts in the main cities of the state and has the objective of covering the entire geography of Sonora, as well as participating in interdisciplinary projects such as opera and contemporary dance, in order to strengthen professional artistic development in the state.
Since then, it has gradually become one of the most important orchestras in the northwest of Mexico. In recent years, it has worked with conductors and soloists such as Enrique Patrón de Rueda, Jorge Federico Osorio, Sumi Jo, Stewart Neill, Fernando Lozano, Carlos Miguel Prieto, Horacio Franco, Roberto Limón, Olivia Gorra, Encarnación Vázquez, Martha Félix, Arturo Chacón, Fernando de la Mora. Its titular directors have been maestros Gastón Serrano, Alfredo Hernández Reyes, Rey Alejandro Conde; currently the artistic director is maestro Christian Gohmer.
