Austro-Hungarian composer Franz Lehar (1870-1948) is most widely known for his operettas, namely The Merry Widow. Giuditta is an operatic five scene musical comedy, with libretto by Paul Knepler and Fritz Lohner-Beda. It was Lehar's largest and final operetta. The work was premiered in 1934 at the Vienna State Opera. This recording features the Chor des Bayerischen Rundfunks and the Rundfunkorchester.
