The most distinguished living composers from Turkey have written music for one of the most prominent classical musicians to have emerged from their homeland: violist Beste Tıknaz Modiri. The evocative and powerful music on this album, recorded in Istanbul, is brimming with character and expression, conjuring aural images of the artist's and composers' home country. Every work receives its world premiere recording with this release.

In addition to being a prize-winning soloist, violist Beste Tiknaz Modiri is also an active chamber music player. She currently is a member of the Borusan Virtuosi, ViolAria Trio, Orient Ensemble and the Sion Soloists. She holds an Associate Professor (Docent) position at Istanbul University State Conservatory and is the principal violist of the Borusan Istanbul Philarmonic Orchestra and Philarmonisches Kammerorchester Berlin. With a dynamic concert career as a soloist and chamber musician, Ecuadorian pianist Andrés Añazco has performed throughout Europe as pianist of the celebrated Acros Trio, winners of the Joseph Windisch Competition (Vienna), with an extensive repertoire that includes little known works by Spanish and Latin-American composers. Since 2006, based in Vienna, his musical career has lead him to explore new musical styles as a member of the Vienna Tango Quintet.
