Bohemian composer Josef Myslivecek knew both Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and his father Leopold. Myslivecek has been described as a pioneer in the writing of chamber music for winds and with this disc the L’Orfeo Wind Ensemble, made up of members from the L’Orfeo Baroque Orchestra under Carin van Heerden, turn to the charming, sonorous yet rarely heard wind octets and quintets of Myslivecek.
