Prelude', a Pro Musica CD release from Norwegian female choir Oslo Vocalis, presents a selection of both well-known and new repertoire classics. 'Ave Maria' is a lyrical piece by the young Holst. Graceful is also Fauré's 'Messe basse' for female choir and organ. Grieg's 'Ved Rondane' is something of a Norwegian national icon, and Geir Tveitt's 'Velkomne med Æra' is among his best known works. New York based composer Ola Gjeilo composed the album’s title track. Frank Havrøy’s 'O Magnum Mysterium' will be a welcome discovery for listeners. An additional five works also feature here.
