Reflections of Light / Laver
Celestial light has been an inspiration to organists for centuries. Anne Laver explores this genre with examples from a wide variety of styles, including the rarely heard Phantasie und Fuge by Heinrich Reimann. Anne Laver, winner of the prestigious American Guild of Organists’ National Young Artist Competition in Organ Performance and currently Assistant Professor of Organ and University Organist at Syracuse University, performs as a featured recitalist and presenter. The premiere recording of Eunyoung Kim, Prelude on “Veni Creator Spiritus” is included in this program. The Fritts organ ranks as one of the largest mechanical-action organs in the United States. Taking more than two years to construct, it consists of about 5,000 pipes.
