This is a reissue of the first recording, unavailable for years, of French soprano coloratura Elizabeth Vidal, who topped the French 2014 music charts with a pop-classical album, La Cantadora. Brought together on this recording are works by French composers (or composers who lived in France) born between 1810-1910. All of them had a talent for bringing out the qualities of the light coloratura soprano voice. This program brings to light hitherto unpublished or rare items, including works by Saint-Saëns, Manuel Rosenthal (world première recording), Federico Longas and Louis Beydt.
