This album of Russian Dances is beautifully performed by Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, under the baton of Kazuki Yamada. The album contains masterful works from brilliant conductors, including Tchaikovsky’s Suite from Swan Lake, Glazunov’s Two Concert Waltzes, Shostakovich’s The Golden Age, and Stravinsky’s Circus Polka. The album does an excellent job of preserving the important role that ballet has in Russian musical culture.
