The violinist Gunar Letzbor is an established Austrian baroque music performance specialist, constantly searching for a specifically Austrian baroque string sound.From the over 100 sonatas contained in the Minoritenkonvent Manuscript XIV 726, one of the most important of Austrian baroque music sources, Mr. Letzbor has compiled the series "ex Vienna", consisting of three programs that shed light on various aspects of Austrian violin music. Sources ‘Scordato’, the second CD of the series, features violin works in which the instrument must be retuned, thus sounding in scordatura.
