The brilliant oboist and Hector Berlioz contemporary Stanislas Verroust (1814-63), composed 12 Solos de Concert for oboe and piano between 1854 and the year of his death. Composed for use at the Paris Conservatoire where he was Professor of Oboe from late 1853 onwards, these world-premiere recordings of these rarely heard works feature oboist Enrico Calcagni and pianist Alberto Magagni.
