Dr. Karen Dannessa and Henry Grabb, Profs. of Clarinet and Oboe respectively at West Chester Univ. in PA, are heard as Duo del Sol on Windward, which hosts the work of six distinctive, American contemporary composers: David Loeb, Matthew Herman, Jason Haney, the Costa Rican-born Alejandro Argüello, PA native Joseph Gregorio and Mark Rimple, a fellow WCU Professor. Dr. Dannessa is an active performer whose playing has been described as “... magical... with a full, centered, silky tone...” (The Clarinet) Mr. Grabb’s playing has been noted for being “… intensely personal, as if it were sung.”
