Schubert: Symphonies Nos. 3 & 8 "Unfinished"; Schubert/Liszt Wanderer - Fantasie / Boris Berezovsky / Kurt Mazur / The Berezovsky performance with Masur of the Liszt arrangement is handled with such an elegant touch, and never pulls back from the extra sentimentality that Liszt injected. It actually gave more insight into the work. It is pure Liszt, especially the Liszt of the First Piano Concerto. Berezovsky plays with that recognition, and that is why it works.

The libretto was based on Pierre Beaumarchais's French comedy Le Barbier de S�ville (1775). The premi�re of Rossini's opera (under the title Almaviva, o sia L'inutile precauzione) took place on 20 February 1816 at the Teatro Argentina, Rome. Rossini's Barber has proven to be one of the greatest masterpieces of comedy within music, and has been described as the opera buffa of all "opere buffe". Even after two hundred years, it's popularity on the modern opera stage attests to that greatness.
