Jarred Dunn/Anna Górecka -"Górecki's World of the Piano" - Canadian pianist Jarred Dunn presents Górecki's World of the Piano, his first recording for ATMA Classique. This album highlights the piano works of Polish composer Henryk Mikolaj Górecki. For the recording of the two-piano opuses, Jarred Dunn is joined by Anna Górecka, the composer's daughter. This recording offers the complete works for one and two pianos by Górecki, an intimate oeuvre rich in personal and historical significance.
Louise Bessette - "Origami" / With her latest recording, Origami, pianist Louise Bessette unveils a few pages from the musical journal of Montréal composer Anthony Rozankovic. His "origami music" or "score sculptures" are alternately dissonant, syncopated, consonant, lyrical, or chaotic - according to film producer Carl Leblanc, author of the album's liner notes. 11 of the 16 pieces on Origami started out as film music, with the composer conveying intense emotions. Among the other works are four concert pieces.
Myriam Leblanc/Ensemble Mirabilia - "Amour fou" / With the album, Amour fou, soprano Myriam Leblanc and Ensemble Mirabilia take us on a journey of love via arias and songs spanning more than 800 years. From Fauré's poetic, "Au bord de l'eau," to Jacques Brel's heartrending, "Ne me quitte pas," and Barbara's, "Dis quand reviendras-tu?" Leblanc has gathered a bouquet of music depicting the most human of all sentiments. Amour fou also includes an aria from Vivaldi's cantata Amor hai vento, several old English songs by Thomas Campion and more.
Stéphane Tétreault/Olivier Hébert-Bouchard - "Claude Debussy: Images retrouvées" / Stéphane Tétreault and Olivier Hébert-Bouchard present Images retrouvées, the second volume of works by Claude Debussy transcribed for cello and piano. The series was inaugurated in 2023 with the first volume, Images oubliées. Images retrouvées takes us back to Debussy's immense contribution to the piano repertoire and delves deeper into the composer's identity - patriotic, amorous, curious, thoughtful, and intrigued by novelty.
